Vermont Ale House

Wow, wow, wow!

We've been coming to Stowe for summer vacations for about 5 years now.  And most of the places we dine at are OK, but lately we've noticed that lots of them have either gone out of business, or have priced themselves out of the market (especially when they jack up prices but don't raise the quality of the food, service or atmosphere.

Enter Vermont Ale House.

First, the food was amazing especially given the prices they charge---very reasonable. Many of the preparations we sampled would have cost 100% more in our town, Boston. The beer was professionally selected from some of the best breweries in the USA.

Second, the service was very professional and especially friendly. From the hostess, to the wait staff, to the bar staff---all were warm and courteous.

Third, the atmosphere was crisp, clean and inviting. The decor in one part was literally a sunken library with a fireplace--very charming and comfortable.

This is truly a diamond in the rough. The locals know about it and made up most of the clientele.
