There is nothing I miss more about life in Conway than nights at the VFW!

Back in the day, Faulkner County was a lot less damp than you see today. At that time, you had three choices: (1) drive to Maumelle, (2) be miserable at the Supper Club, or (3) live it up at the VFW. While things have certainly changes since my brief time in the area, I certainly believe that the VFW is still a great place for some beer, shuffleboard, pool, and karaoke.

There are a few negatives all should be aware of. One big one is one that I was a major contributer to when I was a regular. Indoor smoking. If the ventilation was a bit better, I don't think it would be as big of a deal, but I have noticed a serious decline in sinus infections since I stopped as a VFW regular.

The bartenders, door guys (and gals), karaoke DJs, and managers were all extremely friendly. You couldn't find a better dive bar to hang out with your friends. Expertly located less than a mile from the Hendrix campus, it was the perfect place for Wednesday-festing during the school year, as well.

Other bars may have since opened in Conway offering pool, karaoke, etc., but the memories and fun from the VFW could doubtfully be duplicated.

This is a great place to hang out. You don't have to be a veteran to get in, anyone 21+ with a valid ID can go there. Drink prices are probably the best in the area, and they do Karaoke every Tuesday,, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
