The Tavern has been around for at least forty years and has  changed ownership a time or two during its history.  It is the only watering hole for miles around and definitely caters to the locals, however, this should not discourage you from dropping in.  If you are in the area and would like a drink or a home cooked meal by all means take the time to stop by.
The current owner, Jessie is about as sweet as they come. I met her during my recent visit and she was friendly without being overly attentive. The bartender, Jennifer, was also friendly and more then helpful when it came to suggestion off their menu.
They have two pool tables, darts, a large variety of music to select and on occasion have guest DJ's come and spin for customers.
Over the past couple of decades I have visited this place many times. My last visit was the first visit in a very long time that I really enjoyed. The place seems fresher, younger and revitalized. Â
It is a bit off the beaten path for the out of towners but hey sometimes those little side trips create the fondest memories of your trip.
