This place is aptly named, because it seems to be almost divided right down the middle. Â Up front, it's a tearoom, and in the back it's a pub. Â I don't know anything about the tea there, I just come here for the food. Â Their menu has a large amount of standard American fare. Â There's lots of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, burgers, and entrees to choose from. Â I'm always here for lunch, so I stick with sandwiches. Â My favorites are the patty melt, steak sandwich, and southwestern chicken sandwich. Â Most sandwiches are offered with chips, but if you are wise, you will order their steak fries. Â These are no ordinary flat-cut steak fries. Â These are homemade large wedges of freshly fried potatoes. Â They're super crisp on the outside, and nice and soft in the middle. Â I'm not sure how they make them, but I'm pretty sure that they take leftover fully baked potatoes, and just cut them into large wedges and fry them. Â It sounds simple, but you really must try them! Â The service here is friendly and very attentive. Â The main fault (and probably what's keeping them from four stars) is that they don't offer free wifi. Â Downtown Vanceburg has absolutely no AT&T cellular signal, not even one single bar. Â Free wifi would be amazing, as I could actually get caught up on all my work emails and tweets as I'm having lunch here while doing field work. Â Other than that, I really like this place!
