When they make a mistake, they will not own up to it. Customer service falls to the wayside at this restaurant. I recommend not ordering pizza here unless you plan to pay to take it home only. Plan on having the cook lose your order ticket at least once. What food we did have was good however.
Review Source:We stopped in for lunch and a drink around 1:00 P.M. Â We tried to take advantage of the outdoor dining area but the plastic roof and inoperative ceiling fans made it feel like a greenhouse. Â We ended up inside which accommodated our group of 10 nicely.
Beer selection is limited. We had a couple of Oberon's and 2 pitchers of Bud Light. They didn't have beer glasses for the pitchers. We got highball glasses instead.
For lunch we had quesadillas and pizza. The quesadillas weren't memorable; small and lacked ingredients. And they don't come with guacamole. The pizza on the other hand was outstanding and is the only reason this place gets three stars. It makes this place worth the stop.
Yuck.
Not only were the items on the menu of poor quality, and, in most cases, taken straight from the freezer bag, we felt very rushed by our waitress. Â This seemed to be happening at most of the tables-- the waiters seemed to be rushing customers out. Â I am not sure why-- there were plenty of tables available, and several hours before the posted closing time.
I was also not impressed with our ticket.  The waitress rang up about half of what we actually ordered.  We didn't ask for a comp, nor were we complaining about anything.  I suspect she was 'hooking us up' so that we, in turn, would do the same to her  We, however, did not.
I'm all about compensating waiters fairly-- but dishonesty won't get you far with me. Â I'm glad to pay for everything that I ordered, and give you a fair tip on top of that. Â Don't let my casual clothes and age fool you.
Skip this place. Â Coho's across the street is a better option. Â The food is much more expensive, but worth every penny (and, waiters are not cheating the house there).
We've been to the Villa Marine a few times on our trips to Frankfort and have really enjoyed the food, the outdoor seating, and the friendly service. Â HOWEVER, last night we went there to watch the baseball game and our waitress was terrible. Â Maybe she was just having a bad night, but it seemed like she didn't even want us to be in there! Â She was unfriendly and never smiled even once! Â We ordered our dinners, and our drinks, but she never came back to see how we were doing....never even came back to see if we wanted another drink! Â We even had to go search for her and ask for our bill so we could leave!! Â The bar wasn't very crowded at all (Tuesday night in October) so that couldn't have been her excuse. Â We weren't rowdy or loud....just 4 adults who wanted to come in for dinner and watch the game. Â Also, although the lunch menu is great and fair priced, the dinner menu is very expensive if you want something more than a sandwich or Mexican. Â I don't believe there was any meal on the dinner menu less than $18.00.
Review Source:The Villa is an up north bar. If you can handle having to wash your clothes and hair immediately afterwards then I suppose it's not so bad. The drink prices are fair and the food is decent, but the smoke is a killer.
Also, on nights when there is a band, it can get pretty rowdy, loud, and sometimes dangerous. They definitely over serve their customers and I've seen fights break out. Usually it's the girls that are the worst. : (
They have pool tables and large tvs for sports.
They also have a back deck overlooking the marina. If it's a decent day, eat out there.
ahh the villa this is the go to place for drinks in Frankfort. All of the other bars/restaurants close early and this is the gathering spot for all of those people who are "just getting up to the lake" and want to see friends. They have a great outdoor area which is screened in and looks over the bay. The pool table area is nice and they usually have fun bands but the bar gets packed on pretty much every holiday weekend and most weekends in the summer. The drinks are a good price, which is nice because its still a small bar.
Review Source:The biggest plus is that it's open later than other bars in the area. Â on a weeknight or sunday, it's open til 2am. Â other benefits include: 2 pool tables, big bar, friendly service, a view of the harbor. i would say that the jukebox could use a little bit of help, but that would make me sound like a big city snob, and this place is all about making you feel at home.
