Unless you go to the Village Pub early for the senior citizen special, this is not really the place for quiet family dining. Ok, they don't really have an early bird special but even if they did, I'm not sure if the food would be worth it.

But if you're looking for a loud, fun, drunken good time, VP is the place. I went on a Fri night and had a great time. There was a live band that kicked ass, and the dance floor was packed. Upstairs is another, smaller bar and a separate dance room with house music.  It was empty and the DJ wasn't that great. But I give points to VP for having something for everyone.

The bartenders were friendly. My only disappointment is that they don't have enough restrooms.

I was in palmsprings on vacation  in April. We went twice. The first time for lunch. The food was good, especially the french fries! However the service was not great
The classes that our drinks were served in were dirty. They had lip stick marks on them. The waitress basically said it was no big deal and asked us if we wanted new drinkd. Ummm I am thinking yes!!! Duh. The place was dirty, like filthy dirty. It made me nervous because I was thinking, if this looks bad I don't want to see the kitchen.then I came at night with a local friend. The DJ was great! The place was very alive. The private bar upstairs ran out of my favorite drink. I kept asking for more but he couldn't get it for some reason.  I was dancing so much I got dehydrated and was told there was no water and had to beg for ice. If someone needs water give it to them! If someone is comfortable they will stay longer which means more money for your business! !

Of all the places we could have eaten today we chose this place. Unfortunately it was probably the worst decision. The food took a long time And there were only 3 tables with people at that time. Our waitress didn't write down our order and there were several mistakes with the food. The chicken was dry as dust and we never got refills. I don't recommend this place.

This was my frist time at Village Pub, let alone Palm Springs.

Our Hotel recommended us to hit this place, saying they had great food and happy hour as well.
The food was really delicious. I mean, big props to the cooks in the back. But when it comes to the waitresses, theyre service really sucked.

We've lived in California since early 2009 and hadn't had the chance to get to Palm Springs. We decided to go and check out what the area had to offer. We arrived mid-afternoon and stopped at the Village Pub for a late lunch. Since we have lived in California, we haven't had a truly bad meal at any restaurant....until we ate here.

I understand that the lion's share of their business must come in the evening with drink sales. However, if you are open for lunch, and call yourself a pub, you may want to focus on a few things. First, the place is absolutely filthy. Everywhere you look is weeks, if not months or years, of dirt and grime. From the tables, floors, and bathrooms, nothing is clean. The menu was hard to decipher what they were trying to be experts at, but since this was a "pub", I decided to try the Fish and Chips. The menu item was singled out in in it's own box, looking as if it may be a favorite or specialty. When I received my food, I quickly realized this was the same old crappy bar food that comes straight off the food supplier truck and into the dirty fryer.

A little agitated at the lack of cleanliness and quality of food, I simply paid attention to the rest of our experience. The waitress (who looked as dirty as the restaurant) never asked how things were...she just asked if we needed anything else. It took forever to get the check and even longer for her to process my payment and return my card.

Without a doubt, this is the worst food I have had in California. I will never return, even if we were offered free food for life. I feel violated having been here....it is just that bad. Waste of time and money.

Not memorable. Both times I've been here the atmosphere was kind of dull. The food was not great either.

Unfortunately I had the same server twice (Chris) and both times he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and took forever to greet us and take our order. He spent more time socializing with the DJ than attending to his guests. Im sure there are other good servers at Village Pub but unfortunately I wont be back to find out. Food was cheap, but not that sexy.

Village Pub, I declare your acoustic guitar player of Friday night to be a minstrel of good cheer and happiness. Your food was all good.  It was even blessed by my two cranky boys who hiked at Joshua Tree all day.  Bless you.  You have my permission to make your tall beer glasses even taller.

The service was a little bit off, but that's okay.. it was Coachella weekend and I'm sure half the people that worked there were .. overworked.

We ordered the wings and shared a burger. All was just okay, nothing spectacular. But it seemed to be a popular place to go.

I loved this place!!! It was the place to be in downtown Palm Springs!
We went here around 10:30/11 for dinner and drinks, and it was already quite packed!
We got seated and the waitress was super nice and friendly! She gave us suggestions on what to order, and I ended up getting the regular burger (YUM!) with sauteed veggies instead of fries. The burger was DELICIOUS! So juicy and flavorful, it comes up close to one of my favorite burgers!
My boyfriend ordered chicken fetuccini alfredo and he really liked it as well!
We also got a pitcher of beer for 19 dollars, which ended up being much cheaper as we got a total of 6 glasses!
The bill wasn't too bad either! Once we were done eating we walked around, there was a live band playing downstairs and they were pretty good! And upstairs there was a DJ and a dance floor, with another bar. The upstairs area with a dj reminded me of a frat party. Awkward guys trying to hit on girls that were trying too hard. God, did I really get this old that I'm over the party scene?! (I'm 24, haha!) And the music the dj was playing wasn't that great, it was house but not very good house. Guess I'm used to the awesome DJs in hollywood that know how to bring the house down. And maybe my standards for a dance floor/club are a lot higher now that I have been to many clubs in LA/hollywood. But anyway, overall, this place was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back if I am in Palm Springs again!

After much thought I decided to write a review over my FINAL experience at this restaurant.

Let me start with this.....we were really never fond of this place but with such a limited selection in this valley this was our go to when we had friends and family in town.
Now were a young couple (27+) and parents of a toddler. We make it a point to head to restaurants early because of this fact....we completely understand no one wants to sit next to rowdy toddler trust us!. But on this occasion we arrived at the village pub at 7:45ish my best friend was in town and wanted to treat her to a fun dinner. We never expected to get turned away at the door because we had our toddler with us. We are new to the valley and have no sitter....now we have been here before with our toddler but it just always seemed like we were never really welcomed. But I was shocked that we got turned away....they claimed it was "late and they didn't want to risk it". Most insulting was the restaurant had families enjoying their dinner...yup with kiddos running around and all. To top it off the elderly woman at the front door was extremely dry making the experience that much more uncomfortable.

I am not dramatic in fact I consider myself to be butter letting many things just slide off but this was just something I couldn't let go. Now doing them some justice I do agree they prefer the more adult bar oriented clientele. With that said....we will never return, bummer for them because we pride ourselves on being excellent tippers!..

Simply if you have kids and no sitter just head somewhere else...

I really wanted to like this place. Everyone on the staff was extremely nice and friendly. I had two problems though. One, the service itself was pretty slow. It took quite a bit of time for me and my gf to get our food/drinks. The other problem that I had was that some of the patrons were complete d-bags. I witnessed a handful of drunk (larger & intimidating) guys, grab food off another smaller guys plate. Also witnessed another group of guys literally looking for a fight with these other guys for no reason whatsoever. I just felt as if a full on brawl was going to break out at any moment. If they could somehow clean that up, it was a pretty cool place.

Ive been here a few times before on other Palm Springs adventures but wow this time was super un-fun. It was mid day and the place was NOT packed. There was one waitress who decided to unload on me near tears about how this was her 2nd day. Listen doll, im no cold hearted B (wait...) but the last thing I want when trying to get my shitfaced on in the middle of the day is for some server to bitch about their lives. grow up and deal.

The bartender was the saving grace. Thank you sir. much appreciated

While I have met up with friends here on several occasions, my last experience here was horrendous. I would give my last experience at the Village Pub zero stars, but am giving it 2 stars because the previous times I have been to this place were between decent and fun.

Last Friday night, me and about six others got a table and ordered food and drinks. Our server was Claudia, and from the beginning she was curt and seemed brash. We told the server during ordering who and what was going to be split on three separate tabs. After finishing our mediocre food and watered down drinks, Claudia brought one whole check.

I was stunned by how rude and snotty she was as we had to reexplain the tabs...she was really snide and even snatched the check out of one of my friends hands! My mouth dropped as I sat there as and watched how rude she was being. Did I mention that her service was rather slow and that she left a bunch of empty glasses and dishes on the table? We also overheard the table next to us talking about how crappy her service was.

When she finally came back, we wrote on the receipt what cards were to be charged what amount. She was frazzled and was obviously irritated about DOING HER JOB! I was, yet again, totally stunned by her rudeness and behavior!

I have worked in customer service for years, including serving, and yes....seperate checks take extra work and attention. But I don't care how much you hate your job or how bad your day is going, it is inappropriate to portray that to customers! We are usually excellent tippers but we didn't tip any additional to the "added gratuity." Apparently they charge it for parties if six or higher, even though it doesn't mention it on any of the menus!

The kid wanted chicken wings, so we went to the Village Pub for their "Hell Hot Wings".  We also ordered calamari, which was fresh, and chicken satay.  Don't be afraid to order the spicy items.  Lexi was our server and, in spite of being very busy, she was right there when we needed her.  We were lucky to be seating in a large comfy booth.

To make the experience even better, Yelp was offering a deal at the Village Pub so I took advantage of it.

Great service. Stumbled upon this restaurant one night with a group of friends. Our original dinner reservations fell through, so we left there and found the Village Pub. The hostess was friendly and we were seated promptly out on their patio near a firepit. Awesome! We got to chit chat around two open fires and enjoy our meal.

None of us ordered any drinks during dinner, so I can't review them on that. However, their food was delicious. First off, their menu is extensive and a bit too many options to choose from.

We started off the Mediterranean Deli Platter: Stuffed Grape leaves, Ful Medammis, Hummus, kalamata olives, tzatziki, sliced tomato, feta cheese, cucumber, artichoke, carrot, jalapenos and celery stick, served with pita bread. Good amount of food and was delicious and fresh. However, I'm not sure I would pay $25 again for this appetizer.

The Gorgonzola Pear Salad was yummy: Gorgonzola cheese, grilled chicken, sliced pear, sun dried cranberries and spice crusted walnuts. Served over spring mix baby greens and tossed in a fat-free raspberry vinaigrette. It was refreshing and tasteful. Next came the margarita pizza, which was surprisingly quite delicious. The crust was crispy, plenty of cheese and they didn't skimp on the basil leaves.

The manager was attentive and helpful. We ended up coming back here later that night to enjoy the nightlife and live band.

Overall, great experience, good food, awesome music, but hefty prices on drinks/foods.

So-so... Food wasn't all that good.  Salmon had a bland/fishy taste.  Switched to fish & chips and that wasn't too good either.  Stick to the burgers though.  They were ok.  Try the one w' jalapeños.  Nightclub seemed alright.  Music was ok.

The word "pub" calls to mind a specific image. Cozy corners. A chill atmosphere. Casual conversation. Instead my girlfriends and I were treated to skeevy employees, a lacking drink selection (Seriously, you call yourself a pub and don't even serve *bottled* cider?), and a parade of creepy dudebros. This place is a pub in the way that I am the queen of England, which is to say not at all.

On the plus side the location is huge. Apparently they have several rooms, some of which include dancing, others live music. My girlfriends and I were toward the back in the general bar section. Also, the bartenders were nice and poured a decent drink. However, everything else about this bar was incredibly off-putting. Let's start with the employee whose job, as far as I can tell, was to stand in the alcove by the bathroom all night and be creepy, staring at the girls in the bar for hours on end. Also the bathroom was a disgusting disaster area. I know that sometimes with bar bathrooms you take what you can get, but with the amount of traffic this places supports and the fact that they have an employee stationed right outside the door, you think they'd be able to at least provide you with toilet paper when you ask. Ladies (and possibly gentlemen too), if you plan on drinking here make sure you carry a packet of travel tissues on your person.

The clientele of the Village Pub is also a strange mix. Another reviewer compared it to a frat house, and I have to agree. Lots of dudebros, lots of girls in skanky (but yet really hideous) outfits. If that's your thing, awesome. But if you're looking for the local pub atmosphere that the name Village Pub implies, I would take your business elsewhere. I know I'll never be back.

I have to say, I've been here several times throughout the past couple of years, but my last visit was so displeasing, it is safe to say I will never waste my money here again.
There WERE some positives to this place.. I remember coming here for pool, live music, and drunken debauchery a few years ago when I was in the height of my post high school party mode. I had some decent times, going there on a busy night with a group of friends who were just down to rage, so if your a member of that demographic, you might find yourself having an OK  time,...

That being said, if you are looking for drinks that actually taste good, service that is up to par, and a great atmosphere, there are probably at least 10 other establishments on Palm Canyon I would recommend before EVER going here. Just DONT DO IT, I know it looks cool from the front, but it is just a waste of money.

My last experience here was a few weeks ago, the BF and I decided to do an old fashioned PS Strip bar crawl. We started with The Falls (amazing) LuLus (awesome) and Las Consuelas (great time) and it was the type of thing where The Village Pub was right on our way back to the car so we figured that would be our last stop ... biggest mistake ever.
The vibe sucked. It was a Friday night around midnight, you would think that would be the most energetic, fun, and entertaining time to be there, but it was beyond lackluster. There was some cover band playing tunes from the 70s and 80s and NOT the good ones, I would have rather listened to a jute box, Ipod, or radio for that matter, and most of the patrons there were either tourists or part of the older crowd. I am NOT an age-ist, I know you dont need to be 25 to know how to party, but the crowd there was just as much as a buzz kill as the obscure 35 year old songs the band was playing. I remember coming here 4 or 5 years ago and it felt like you were on a frat house on steroids, but I guess the newer bars on the strip has attracted all the energetic, fun, party people, because they are NOT at the Village Pub.

Also, I had the WORST drink I have ever ordered in recent memory. Like I said we were already pretty tipsy, having a good time, and we told the bartender to make us something good.....FAIL!!!! Not only was the bartender totally inattentive, and lacking in enthusiasm, manners, or personality, but the felony he committed was the drink he had made. What I got was a sugary, sour, paint-thinner tasting red liquid in a SODA glass.  Neither I, nor my boyfriend, could stomach tossing that back, so rather than make a fuss, we just decided to close out and leave. Our two disgusting drinks cost us $21! Seriously, the bartender should have been wearing a ski mask and holding a glock because that is straight up robbery! I would rather have lit my $21 on fire than pay for that disgusting mess called a drink. I dont know what I regret more, deciding to end our night here in the first place, or not telling the bartender to shove our bill up his ass for charging us that much for some of the worst drinks I have ever been served.  I ordered 4 drinks-  two Mojitos and two Lemon Drops at LuLus an hour before, that were cheaper, tasted delicious, and were served in the proper glassware by a staff of personable, fun bartenders.

So what have I learned from this experience? That the once pseudo-cool Village Pub has turned into a tourist hub, where they overcharge for DISGUSTING drinks, hire D-Bag Bartending School Drop Outs, and appoint washed up cover bands to set the mood for the night. My advice? Park in their structure, walk the strip, go to literally ANY other place before this one, and even when your walking back to your car, tipsy, having fun, and think "What the heck, we're right here, lets just have one more drink before heading home" DON'T.

Huh.  Why all the hate for Village Pub, I wonder?

We were in Palm Springs for the weekend, staying up the street, and came across the Pub for a late lunch/drinks on a Sunday.  What actually lured us in from across the street was the sign for $2 mimosas, but once we were seated we were pleased to find that their happy hour lasts all day (I believe it is 11 am- 9 pm, not sure if this is weekends only) and the selection of $2 or $3 drinks was really impressive.

I had a Blackened Chicken Sandwich and my boyfriend had the Monte Cristo off the brunch menu.  Everything was tasty and the portions were pretty big.

They had live music and we sat out on the patio enjoying our drinks in the sun.  It was a really pleasant afternoon!  Free parking around the corner, service was attentive, nothing really not to like.

The only reason this place get's three stars is because it is super sketchy at night.  Lot's of gangs and crap and you have to get wanded to go inside.

During the day this is a good place to go.  On Saturday and Sunday afternoons they have live music.  It's usually some local guys jamming out on guitar covering Bob Seger, Springsteen, and other classic rock favorites.

They have a great happy hour with 2.50 pint drafts domestic and 3.50 imports.  We love coming here after hiking around Whitewater or San Jacinto.  We usually settle on a pitcher of the Village Idiot, they're locally crafted Pale Ale.  The patio is huge with TV's with every sport you could think of.  Pizza is a great finger food choice to order when you just want to relax, have some cold beer, and let your feet rest after a long day of hiking.

Live music, dancing, dinner until 1:30, this place was hopping for a Wednesday night. the band played older rock which was nice.

Stumbled on the Village Pub sort of by accident. We got a very late start for dinner--about 10:30 pm and the original destination was closed so we walked down a couple doors to the very lively pub. Its hard to find a kitchen that serves good food open late on a weeknight.

The guy that greeted us at the door was super friendly and made small talk while walking to the table. Really friendly and welcoming place!

Service was kind of slow but the burger was delicious! We split the 1 pound  Village Pub Chipotle Burger--cheese, mushrooms grilled onion and bacon with a side of chipotle sauce and fries. This is not for one person to eat so dont even think about it.

We sat outside and the night was perfect weather--85° but i think outside seating could be miserable if the weather was too hot which is pretty common during the summer.

    i highly recommend Village Pub

The Village Pub should lose the Idiot that told us they were having the Pacquaio fight that night.  My bros went there five long hours before the main event in order to get a good table for our party of eight.  So what did we do all that time?  What else but eat, drink, eat, drink, and eat, drink AGAIN!

-13 dishes of run-of-the-mill pub fare
    -18 pints of beer
    -9 cocktails, and
-8 shots of liquor to be exact.

Truth be told, we enjoyed each other's company while at the Village Pub despite the 90+ degree Palm Springs heat.  Service was slow, but then it was super crowded, and maybe it was a good thing considering all that grub and liquor we were downing! But what a buzzkill when the Village Pub found out that they were NOT showing the fight afterall and we ended up having to watch it through the window of a Buffalo Wild Wings.  And Pacquiao LOST too!  SMH.

Live music, dancing and drinking until 2AM in downtown Palm Springs, who doesn't love to party all night long!  Not many places will stay open that late, including Cascades at the Spa Casino they close early on Friday and Saturdays.

I haven't been here to eat because I see so many other places to have dinner but come here to burn off the calories with dancing and drinking.  It does tend to get loud inside but you can hang out on the patio and people watch.

I am writing this on the toilet because am currently trying to process last nights meal. This is my 2nd trip to the toilet in the past 20 minutes, and I have a feeling I will be back shortly for more explosive diarrhea.

We went here because it was on Palm Canyon Drive. Can't go wrong in downtown Palm Springs right? If they can afford that kind of real estate, they must be doing something right! Wrong.

As we were greeted at the door, one angry customer was simultanteously storming out and said "It would be nice to get some service!!"

That should have been our cue to leave and go elsewhere. Because there are 100 other restaurants on Palm Canyon in downtown Palm Springs.

We sat down. Waitress was a bit slow. Ordered a Stella. It came about 7-10 minutes later and was warm/room temperature. Either because they do not properly refrigerate their kegs (perhaps this is leading to the current situation in the bathroom?), or because I watched the beer sitting on the bar for 5-8 minutes in the heat.

Ok, at this point I was worried that this placed sucked and still trying to make the best of it. I had a warm beer, perhaps they would make up for it with the food?

The the band started. OMG how annoying is that? Why does live music always have to be SO LOUD THAT YOU CANNOT HEAR ANYBODY OR ANYTHING. I could not even communicate with my waitress. This was a fail on this restaurants behalf, but let this serve as a warning to all other places that offer live music: put the volume at a 3, instead of an 11! Nobody actually comes for the live music. Its always just a coincidence.

The food came, and reminded me of a short man with a red corvette; it was trying to make up for something. The burger, upon first inspection, looked wonderful. It was sky high stacked to the point of towering over the fries like a feudal landlord.

It was one of those burgers that I only hate half of. And I usually love me some burgers! Here is why it sucked: Too much bread, and very dry bread at that. I had asked for medium rare, I got charred to almost burnt, so the meat had no flavor. There was really no flavor at all.

My girlfiriend had a pasta dish and it was terrible too. It was so damn rich after I took at bite I did not want another. Tasted like eating liquid cheese. Very gross.

Anyway, we left and would never come back to this place. I hope it goes out of business soon, so that a worthy restaurant can occupy this prime piece of real estate.

This place is NOT as bad as other reviews indicate.

Enjoyed a $3 chicken satay w peanut sauce. The chicken was delicious and larger than I expected for $3.

Also enjoyed a chicken Cesar wrap for $7. Again, delicious and larger than expected for $7 during happy hour.

The beer was cold. The cocktails strong.

I'll be back. It won't be the first place I visit when I return, because there are many, many other places I want to try, but I will come back and try something else on the menu.

Fun place for live rock music and a friendly crowd of locals mixed in with a lot of tourists. I have been here many times during the day as well as eves. It is like two different places, as it is totally dead during the day and SRO at night. I believe they have live music 7 nights.

This was the 2nd to last stop of our bar crawl night and my crew decides they need to eat, again. Umm, guys not sure if that's a good call. I have a sixth sense about bars and if I dare try their food. Right on this time too. The calamari was thee worst ever! Unbelievably greasy so I quit at my 3rd bite. Glad I did as one of my buds had stomach issues the next day, and he didn't even drink much. I ordered a personal pizza that was meh, and stopped at 2 pieces, perfect for soaking up booze purposes.

The place itself for loud live music and dancing would earn 4 stars but that horrible calamari knocks it down to 3. Hot tip: eat elsewhere.
