We heard the place was under new management. Â Went intending to get some drinks and appetizers/tapas. Â We barely got drinks... Â We started the evening hopeful but that soon ended after we opened the door and blaring music from a guy singing to prerecorded music and channeling Elvis. Â We couldn't hear ourselves talk. Â After ten minutes sitting at the bar with no less than three people behind the bar scurrying about, somebody took our order. Â She didn't seem familiar with the drink menu and it took a little confusion until she understood our order. Â A frantic search for a jar off cherries ensued and a questionable vessel was produced. Â The resulting drinks were mediocre at best. Â At this point I went on to make a judgement call on not ordering food. Â I could only imagine what the back of the house was run like. We got out as soon as we were able. Probably not returning again.
To be fair, I did not try the food. Â Some of the wait staff looked familiar from the previous management. Â However, there was a real lack of solid customer service and that reassuring feel you get when you walk into a well run establishment. Â The restaurant is a nice space and has real potential. Â Previously I always enjoyed the drinks and tapas. Â The main courses were adequate but always left you wanting a little more seasoning or effort.
If you go and try them out, be cautious and have a backup plan.
In a strip mall--that's all you really have to know, but I'll go on. Â Were seated at a wonderful table where if you either had to go to the bathroom or meet someone that does. Â Server unknowledgeable, dimwitted and slow. Â Asked for a type beer--brought me the wrong one--then insisted I was wrong--think asking for a stout and getting a pilsner. Â Ordered the special--rib eye--what I got was a loin steak--she said they had run out. Â Info better stated BEFORE I order or offered. Â Uber-cheesy lounge singer. Â Oh, and expensive. Â Other than that--it stunk--literally.
Review Source:Great martinis, shrimp  bisque, spinach salad, scallops on polenta, shrimp with grits. New chef, great menu, and some items adaptable for vegetarians. Nice portion size lets you try more. Tues. less busy and 2-4-1 martinis. Nice wines and beers too. Didn't have room for dessert, but we'll be back!
