The Vintage Moose

Yep, cool local bar. Just what I needed after two days of meetings in Denver. A quick escape to the mountains. Just had beers, so can't vouch for food.

On our first visit to Idaho Springs the Moose was our first stop.  The full  bar is very well stocked with tons of great bottled beers and a wide array of alcohol.  It's clean and very friendly.  Some small town taverns are indifferent to non-towny's, but that is not the case here.  The bartender was very friendly and attentive.  The bathroom was the cleanest tavern bathroom I have ever been in.  Even their soap was amazing:  Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy.  They serve food, and it smelled wonderful.  We should have stayed and ate here instead of moving onto Nederland (huge mistake).  We cannot wait to come back during the snow and hang out in the amazing back room.  It looked cozy with great seating and a huge fire place.

After spending the day in Idaho Springs, we happened by this little treasure. Cozy, has that "local" feel...and I smelled smokey evidence that they might have good BBQ...so this winter, when we go snowboarding, we are going to come by again. Why? The semi-opened patio out back has a fireplace and a bbq grill, inviting couches and music piped in. The inside has that woodsy mountain feel...and that is why you go to the mountains...to FEEL like you are in the mountains...right? See you when the snow flies Vintage Moose !
