A & W Restaurants

$ 2.59 for a less than crappy coney ! What would be less than crappy ?  I mean, how does A & W justify selling this coney for $ 2.59 ? I mean, when we look at all the coneys there are, how can they think they deserve the same price as the Lafayette Coney ?

The bun was overcooked, over steamed or over nuked.

The hot dog is the size of your pinky....overcooked and about as cheap as a hot dog can be.

The sauce on the coney was horrible. It had a reddish hue to it and not brown as most coney sauces seem to be. It was the worst coney I have ever had.

1 Coney and a small root beer float was a little less than $ 6.00. No wonder the place is empty ! How could you even afford to bring a family here ? Just amazing how corporate and crappy A & W has become.

Sorry to see what has become of A & W here, I can only hope all A & W's are not using this same sauce and hot dog.  I am going to have to try the A & W in Lincoln Park on Southfield Rd to see if one of the originals that still has the car hops is this bad.

Never ever ever again. Why I actually ingested the food I got? The world may never know, at this point I am just praying that I won't be hugging the toilet in a couple hours.

We walk in and the lady behind the counter starts chatting up my daughter, which is fine, she just seemed a bit oblivious to the line forming behind me. She took our order and that was the end of the good part of my visit. We waited FOREVER for our food. I have never seen a place so busy have so many employees standing around doing nothing. Maybe I am being generous saying it was busy, there were maybe 10 other patrons there and a few in the drive thru. Then I got to witness a couple people waltz behind the counter, I assume they work here? They werent wearing any uniform, just their street clothes, and they start making food!?!? The rest of their friends went and sat down, maybe the food was for them? Weird at any rate. I decide to go get my napkins, straws, etc. Should I have been surprised? No ketchup, mustard or anything else hot dog and hamburger related. Just hot sauce, grape and strawberry jelly....sigh....

Finally I get my order, I have 2 burgers ( I only ordered 1) I  ordered no onions and, of course, got onions on one but not the other and neither burger was the one I had ordered....grrrrr. Then my daughters kids meal has no toy, they are all out. THEN......we wait while the 5 people who were in line BEHIND my sister get their food before she finally gets hers.

The tables were all dirty, no one in sight to clean them. The drink station was a sloppy mess. I don't say this often but, DO NOT EAT HERE!! It's a sorry excuse for a restaurant.
