EAT, DRINK and BE MERRY! Â Wadford's Grill and Bar is our favorite place. Â We recommend it to everyone. Â Their food is fabulous - we have tried everything on the menu and love it all. Â Our favorite is the steak/lobster tails. Â The pork chop is delicious and also one of our favorites. Â Wadford's staff is very knowledgable, friendly and simply amazing. Â The entertainment is always very enjoyable to people of all ages. Â Prepare to be WOWED!
Review Source:Wadford's is a swanky-ish bar with an excellent staff. This is one of the few places in the area where the bartenders actually know how to mix drinks (I'm talking about you, Fox & Hound). It is casual, even though the prices are rather high.
I'm not impressed, however, with the menu. If you're going to offer sea bass and duck, you need to cook good wings and burgers first. The wings were almost soggy and void of flavor. I didn't creep back to the kitchen or anything, but I'm almost positive the burgers are frozen. They didn't ask how well we wanted the burgers done, just cooked them to hell and back. But, of course, anything covered in Gouda and a tasty bun is awesome for bar food. And they do have a lot of options; I just think they're trying to do too much. So, go for the atmosphere, mixed drinks, and maybe a cigar; the food just isn't what they advertise.
Stopped in for dinner and drinks after hearing all the advertisements. The atmosphere was laid back, what you'd expect out of a bar and grill, but the prices? Pretty high. It was a little jarring! I'm just not sure if its a bar and grill or a "fancier" establishment, suit required. The cigar room takes up half the restaurant, and of course it was completely empty. Not really sure if that was a wise investment. I like the occasional cigar myself, but after dining it became unaffordable.
The food, however, was delicious. My friend and i had the crab cakes and chicken finger platter (we shared) and it was all very good. It's hard to find good crab cakes in these parts, not being a port city and all ;) I will most likely go back and try a burger next time, but I'll have to find a coupon first!
Stopped in last night after looking for someplace different for our anniversary. Â These folks really know how to cook. Â Definitely not the typical restaurant yo would find in these parts. Â I had crab cakes and they were definitely world class. Â Not a stuffy atmosphere, but the food is awesome. Â Definitely the best restaurant in DeSoto County.
Review Source:I'm not 22 anymore. This is my kind of bar now that I'm older. It's a grown-up bar. Â I don't leave with a massive headache. It's the kind of bar you can just sit back with your drink, cigar if you smoke, and enjoy a nice conversation or whatever is on tv. I don't even smoke cigars, but I enjoy this place as much as my hubby does.
The cigar bar side is small, friendly and very comfortable. Â They have a great little walk-in humidor with a large selection of reasonably priced cigars. They also have a nice size flat screen tv, comfy furniture, a few interesting folks that seem happy to you when you walk in the door, and of course, a wooden Indian that never moves or makes a sound. It's not smoky in there, as you might expect, thanks to the air purifiers that run steadily. Â They serve wine, beer, bourbon, mixed drinks, or even tea, all for a reasonable price. Every time we go, we meet several nice people that we enjoy chatting with. The the staff is always friendly and helpful. They seem to know their regular customers, and they introduce everyone when you walk in. Â
Everyone in the cigar bar side was raving about the food in the restaurant side, so we had to give it a try. We were very satisfied with the food and the service on that side as well. I had the crab cakes and the hubby had Cancun shrimp with risotto. I have to admit, it might be the best meal you can get in Southaven.
The live music is great in the restaurant side. They also have karaoke on certain nights. You can hear it from the cigar bar side, but it's not so loud that you can't relax and carry on a conversation.
The only thing that would make this place better is if they moved it out to Snowden Grove so we could walk there. (I'm usually the designated driver.)
