The steak n blue cheese quesadilla was amazing!  Crispy tortillas stuffed full of shredded steak!  My hubby had chicken fried steak which absolutely thinks us the best one in Salida!
Yes it is a sports bar but my goodness the food is so much better than the usual or even the chain sports bars in the bigger cities!
It's quaint and fun. A little noisy when full of people.  But such a fun atmosphere!

Came here for dinner and to watch the Rockies game. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there were lots of screens to watch whatever you come in to see. Peanuts in the shell are on the house.

We had the Philly Steak and the Angus Steak Burrito. The cheese steak was good; it had nice slices of steak with onions and peppers, and was on a nice crusty bun. The burrito was finely ground beef in a red sauce, with was smothered in Santiago's green chile. I was hoping for shredded beef and the consistency was more like Hormel's canned chili, so I was a little disappointed. However, it tasted good all the same and hit the spot after a long day of hiking.

The service was good, and our server was attentive.

By the way, the Rockies lost. :-(

Normally I would not go into a Sports Bar with a name like this by myself, but it was included on a list of places by a guy I worked with when I asked where to eat.

It's a large sports bar with reasonably sized screens, not the mammoth ones, placed everywhere.  The food was actually very good; I was surprised but I don't tend to frequent "sports bars" as I am past the "sporting" age regardless of the sport.

They had a full bar and I was sorry I wasn't drinking but drinking alone is sort of a bore.  If I could change anything, it would have been to have a group of friends with me.

I had a chicken sandwich with green chilis strips and chipolte mayo and it was nice and spicy and very good and fresh.  It came with a choice of sides and they were not all fried, a plus in my book.  I also had a brownie sundae--I like to save the fat content in my diet for dessert or cheese.

I used to dislike places where the manager or whatever would come around but I guess I've had enough solo meals now that I actually like it, and the night manager here was a very friendly engaging personable guy who said he wore burmudas/shorts year round.  Hardy mountain type.

The wait staff really did not ignore me, came around several times to refill my drinks and generally actually acted like they'd had some training and customer care clinics.

    Nice job.
