Well all started out well. I was seated promptly then things went sour. I sat at the table for a good 8-10 minutes while the waitress was doing something in the back. I ordered a burger cooked medium and fries with NO salt and an arnold palmer. I got the burger back and it looked almost raw the fries came back loaded with salt and the arnold  palmer was almost warm. I told the waitress and she apologized and took the fries and burger back. Instead of recooking a burger they threw it back on the grill and re-did the fries. The burger came back first and so I proceeded to eat it and about the time I finished they brought out the fries with no salt. So after reading all the reviews and my experience I would say they desperately need to hire a real cook. I don't know whats happening in the kitchen but its not pretty. I guess if its just a local watering hole and they don't care about the food I would say avoid the food stay for the beer.
Review Source:Two words can sum up the total Wellington Grill experience: Â DISGUSTINGLY TRASHY. Â When you walk into the "restaurant", it actually has some neat decor and a pretty nice hometown feeling to it. Â On the covered patio, where the walls can be zipped up for dinner, there are a TON of flies that constantly land on your food and table. Â This is somewhat to be expected, due to it being Wellington and all. Â The wait staff are reasonably friendly, but dumb. Â The kitchen staff have no idea how to cook steak, hamburger, pasta, fish, nor sandwiches. Â We ordered 6 meals, of which they got 4 right. Â 6 drinks, of which they got 4 right. Â It was a constant struggle to find someone if you needed anything.
To top it off, the place is full of trashy people. Â When I say trashy, I mean your typical, loud, ignorant, dirty, white trash; not your good ol' country folk. Â I went with someone who is asthmatic and pregnant. Â Seated behind us was a family (with little kids) who decided to smoke while they were eating. Â I did complain to the waitress, who asked the people not to smoke. Â I felt badly, because I do believe that people should be able to have the freedom of doing what they want, but not when it's against the law and when it is not good for the health of those around you. Â A manager never came out to talk to us, nor the customers who were smoking. Â When the waitstaff came out, they tried to explain that you can smoke 15 ft from the door. Â This is ABSOLUTELY wrong, as the law clearly states the following: smoking is not allowed within 15 feet of an establishment or business' main entryway (20 in FoCo). The law clearly states that an "'indoor area' means any enclosed area or portion thereof. The opening of windows or doors, or the temporary removal of wall panels, does not convert an indoor area into an outdoor area."
The owner and Manager obviously don't know the law and regulations they must follow or don't train there staff properly. Â If you cut corners on something like this what else will you cut corners on?
I would recommend that you not eat at this "restaurant" and just hope they are bankrupt in the coming months.
This was my first visit to the Wellington Grill and it was very good! Â Greeting and seating was very fast and courteous with my choice of inside or outside seating. Â Inside seating includes booths, tables and the bar. Â I visited for lunch and ordered the Swiss Mushroom Burger (cooked to medium), onion rings and ice tea. Â My waitress delivered my ice tea very quickly and my meal arrived soon after. Â The burger was large and juicy; however, it was cooked slightly more then the medium that I ordered. Â As it was a swiss mushroom burger, it included both swiss cheese and well prepared mushrooms. Â Also included were lettuce, onions, tomatoes and pickles and bottles of catsup and mustard were on the table. Â The waitress checked in on me from time to time but not more than necessary. Â Overall, I was very pleased with my first visit! Â A full service, well stocked bar with local brews and many others is available. Â Three televisions were tuned to the Olympics and were very easy to watch (or tune out) as desired.
