  IT IS CLOSED!!!! it's been closed for years. it did reopen for a short time and was great one time and pure shit the second. too bad, there was a glimmer of greatness...

  I had dinner at Wendell's on 8/28/11.  It was then at the junction of Center St. and 49, not the highway 26 location listed in Google search hits.  Excellent bar, better than expected BBQ, very reasonable.  But when I drove by almost a year later on 7/22/11, it was empty,  no sign of life at 6pm on a Friday night, too bad.  I think it's dead.

  This place recently re-opened to offer BBQ. The pork ribs and Jack sauce was very good. The Brisket sandwich was huge and the meat was good. The garlic BBQ sauce was not. Tasted like it was made with burnt fake garlic.
  The cocktail service is still friendly and reasonably priced.
  
  Will return to try more menu options.
