This is real deal stuff out in the country. Â The beef brisket is the best I've had in Atlanta/surrounding areas/most anywhere outside of Texas. Â Ribs are gigantic and incredibly tender. Â I'm going to go back and try the pulled pork and chicken but if it's half as good this place is a must add to any BBQ lovers list. Â
The sides are outstanding, beans, coleslaw and...get this...fried potato salad. Â Yeah, it's as awesome as it sounds. Â One last item, if you are a fan of Brunswick Stew, DO NOT miss their stew, it's outstanding.
My wife and I have been here a couple of times on our outings to the Charlie Eliot Wildlife Center just down the road. Â Would give it another half star if I could.
Great authentic Georgia BBQ with friendly service and a down home atmosphere. Â Don't know what this building was before, but appears to be pretty old. Â Quirky little setup with some big tables and some two tops. Â You can order to-go food at the counter or sit down for table service. Â Out back is an old shed that's been converted to the smoke house.
Great pulled pork, almost perfect slaw, a very respectable Brunswick stew, and the tea is spot on. Â Some other non traditional offerings include sliders, an Elvis themed dessert concoction, and something called "Redneck Brittle". Â I was also informed that the "Redneck Brittle" can be eaten "with or without your teeth in". Â True story.
Can't wait for my next trip out this way to pick up some more tasty grub. Â Business is usually pretty steady with some friendly locals. Â My only complaint? Â No cornbread. Â .
