This is a great place to stop if you're traveling on 421. Â The burgers are delicious, as is all the other food. Â Everyone who works there is kind and the waitresses are very attentive. Â If you're a train enthusiast, or you have some small children who love trains, you will be thoroughly entertained by the trains criss-crossing overhead and the memorabilia all over the restaurant. Â Definitely take the time to walk through the outdoor trains - the caboose is really neat.
Another plus - it's smoke free!
The Whistle Stop Cafe and museum is an interesting place to stop and have a bite. Â The food is of the pretty simple comfort variety, with burgers, sandwiches, pastas, some seafood (including local perch), and steaks. Â I had a pulled pork sandwich which was simple but tasty, and the salad bar. Â The salad bar was not the most extravagant I have ever seen, but it was extremely tidy and everything looked good. Â (I hate messy salad bars.)
