Wild Horse Mountain BBQ

Honestly, this place was horrible. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews but I wouldn't even call this BBQ. It didn't smell nor taste anything close to what one would call "finger lickin' good". Driving through on the way to California we decided the reviews were enough to try it. Unfortunately, growing up in the south, I found this place to be far less appealing than the locals. Long story short, I'd pass. We both decided we would have rather had McDonald's.

Wild Horse BBQ is bit out of the way off of I-40 but it is completely worth it.  I eat here every time I am in town.  The food is amazing.

There's really not many choices in Sallisaw, OK for eating choices so I can see why the locals think this restaurant is good.  Even if you're never eaten bbq before, you would expect people to know the difference between a dry piece of meat vs. a moist, tender piece of meat.  I guess the people in Sallisaw don't know the difference because the pork rib is dry and almost tasteless.  ANYONE who states this bbq is better than anything outside of Sallisaw is smoking meth.
