Pretentious atmosphere which only accentuated the poor service.  Had to send someone to get the waitress to place our order, had to ask for water refills. When the tab for a dinner for two exceeds $100 one expects outstanding service, because when you get down to it food is food.  We went with a groupon to try them out and I'm glad we didn't pay full price.  Perhaps they have a "groupon" level of service, half the service for half the price.

We started with the deconstructed crab cake, which was basically a cold unfried crab cake. Although the flavor was good and it was not too bready, I felt like I was eating leftovers from the frig

The steak was ok, but really nothing special, the mashed potatoes were nice, and the sauted squash was fresh. The bread was not good, but we waited so long for the waitress to come back we ate two little loaves.

The desserts were made in house, and actually inexpensive relative to the overall menu. A giant slab of chocolate cake or a nice slice of very good cheesecake for $6.

The Silver Fox in Ft.Worth is a much better example of the outstanding service one should expect at this level, although I don't think they make their own bread.

They have an odd menu, I saw someone on a nearby table eating a large plate of noodles with chopsticks .. ?

Although the atmosphere was nice, food and service were a miss ... overall not worth the drive.

We are traveling, spending all day in the car.  Then the motel routine.  Time for MEAT, not just something you and I could do from the grocery store, but REALLY GOOD MEAT.

    Can you say STEAK?

We could and did, finding sweaty selves, wearing shorts and golf shirts, in the relative luxury of The Wild Mushroom.  Very nice and we had to wait until 7:45 for a two person reservation in this west of Ft. Worth rural area.

Service, a la a gracious, very suave waiter, Phari P.  Very smooth and pleasant.  His smile washed our sweat off and the service was tip-top for the rest of the evening.  This guy would make it in NYC, Chicago or any of the other high end restaurant areas.

Wedge salad, great chop house salad, both with house-made dressings, and a wonderful Liberty School cabernet and we were THERE.  How nice to munch on the warm, soft yeasty bread, sip the wine and softly consume the salads.

The filets were perfectly cooked to order.  In fact, Phari came by and asked us to cut the steaks across the middle to make certain that they were as we ordered.  Our mediums were absolutely text book perfect with a oblong red center fading to the tasty and crunchy pepper and salt crust.  Oh man!

Each bite was decadent, accompanied by the wine.  The pureed mash potato was very good, and the extra side of mushroom (of course) risotto was excellent.  What a mate for the filet!  Even the mixed veggies were sauteed with a char, making them edible rather than decorative.

No complaints, great atmosphere, prices were not outrageous, but you did pay for the prime meat and service impeccable. This being only a one visit yielded four stars, but this is certainly in the five star range.

The Wild Mushroom is a very nice restaurant. It's perfect for a special occasion or a date night. They offer quite a few house specialties that are options you just don't see in other steakhouses. For example they have a Tandoori chicken dish. They also have a lot of seafood.

I opted for the filet mignon and it was okay. I've had filet that was more tender than the one I ate there.  Also, I like my filet cooked medium and when my steak came put it was extremely hot. Consequently by the time I finished eating the steak had gone from medium to medium-well.

They have a large wine list with quite a few options. However we thought the prices were marked up by a lot. Yes restaurants mark up wine quite a bit but this was even higher than that.

For dessert we had their lemon citrus coconut cake. It is huge!  However it was just okay - I found it very dry.

In summary I think that The Wild Mushroom is a good option for fine dining in Weatherford and I would return. I think next time I will order one of their house special dishes just to have something that I can't get somewhere else

I recommended this restaurant to my husband and his business associate and wife (from out of town) because my daughter and I had been there for lunch. We really enjoyed the appetizers, glasses of wine and the ambiance of the bar area.
The first thing that bothered me was the fact that our waitress, Emily, told the other wife that she didn't think the bartender could make her Mai Tai. Huh? Turns out he could/did.
Dinner was a LITTLE (and I mean A LOT) different! First, the prices were exorbitant, in my opinion.  Really--$29 for Chicken Fried Steak? $56 for a ribeye? Yikes! Pretty pricey for a small town.  I can say, however, that the food was DELICIOUS.
Because of the cost of the Seafood Indulgence we opted for the "for 2"--and it was huge! (If you order the "for 4" don't bother to order anything else!) The 4 of us went to town and cleared the tower of lobster, oysters, and crab (beautiful presentation). The other wife started with soup and said she was going to share; our waitress Emily thoughtfully brought it out in two bowls! That was nice.
My husband and I shared the CFS; again, thoughtfully brought out on two plates (long ones, not traditional round. Again, presentation A+).
Other husband got the lamb chops and thought they were a little on the small side; she got the prime filet. It looked like a generous portion and she said it was cooked to perfection.
So! It is definitely worth the trip. Just know that it is definitely the UP side of Weatherford!

Went for Valentine's dinner on the 15'th and it was excellent. We started with calamari and ordered the 12 oz filets. The calamari was tender and a tasty sauce along side. Our steaks were cooked to order and  better than my grill work, hehe. All of the trimmings were delicious and look forward to returning,,lil pricey,, $105 for our meals before tip.But the food and service are top quality so you get what you pay for.

Not impressed by the Valentine's Day menu.  Ceasar salad, so-so.  Oysters, horrid!  Not quite raw, not quite cooked.  Warm Salty butter sauce, that was way too salty.

Dirty Martini was more dirty than Martini.  Didn't finish it and later asked to have a shot of vodka added and have it re-shaken.

Filet medallions with a roasted garlic puree was great.  So was husband's duck.  No complaints with the triple chocolate dessert.  Still would rather have had the regular menu.

Also, they Never told us it was a special, pre fix menu.  Not when the reservation was made, not when they called to confirm, NOT on the website.  What we had was not what I would have otherwise paid $65 per person for.

Made a reservation for my daughter's birthday and had flowers sent to the restaurant but forgot to tell them about it. Arrived and the flowers were on the table when we sat down. Excellent service and the food was outstanding. We will be back.

Not as good as expected. I don't think some of the people that wrote the really good reviews have had amazing food. I would rather eat at Salt Grass for the price and their quality of steaks are much better. I had the award winning Mac n cheese but it came out rubbery. But my homemade Mac n cheese is much better than the chefs or the one at Eddie Vs. My husband said his mushrooms were the best he's ever had but his award winning chk fried steak was way to salty and over seasoned. H3 ranch has a much better cfs than Wild Mushroom does. My lemon cello martini was overly strong as was the 99 bananas martini.  The service was average but not exceptional like you would expect from a restaraunt that pricey. I hate giving bad reviews but we won't be back again!

Ate here with some business associates on a Tuesday night. The food was good. We had some nice appetizers. Those that got steaks said they were good and they looked properly cooked. I got the duck confit. It was good but not great. The roasted Brussel sprouts were really good and I am not normally one for sprouts. The  problem we had was the service. The waiter forgot our soups and we really only saw him when he brought out the food. I needed several refills and silverware and had to track someone else down for them. Lastly, I was disappointed in the creme brûlée. Normally my favorite desert but this one had an off texture. Instead of creamy it was gritty. The sugar topping was done nice with a great crunch but the inside wasn't up to par.

The Wild Mushroom is fabulous in every aspect.  The food is divine and there is something for almost every palette.  The Wine List is wonderful and the pricing is very fair.  The Staff is so polite and gracious.  This was our fist time, but definately not our last!

The Santa Fe chicken sandwich and French onion soup was one of the best lunches I've had in this whole region.

Had a groupon for here so I decided to take my gf at them time here. Apparently I should have dated her a little longer before taking her to such a nice place. I would have had a better time with Elly May Clampett. The next time I take a girl to a steakhouse and she orders a CFS I am going to get up to go to the bathroom and leave her there. Anyways. The halibut was great, perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce. The mushroom risotto with it was amazing. It also came with vegetables but who really cares about those. My dates CFS looked good but she did not offer to share, she had no problem sampling my food though without asking. Good thing I didn't have a steak knife handy. We also had the chocolate cake and by we, I mean her. She said it was good and based off how quickly she ate it, I believe her. Give this place a try, I will def go back in the future just with different company.

This was our third time to visit, I couldn't wait for my birthday dinner.  :)  Our previous visits were delicious, although the enormous and amazingly deliciously flavored prime rib on our other visits were always undercooked and we were told it couldn't be cooked more.  I like a medium rare steak, but these were VERY RARE.  THIS time however our wonderful server asked how we would like it cooked and before leaving the table asked us to check for doneness....and each of our steaks were cooked to perfection.  These prime ribs are melt in your mouth, to die for delicous and ENORMOUS.  The sides with this was perfectly cooked asparagus and mashed garlic potatoes with just a hint of sweetness......a meal to make you dream of when you can come back again.

Prior to the entree, I ordered the lobster bisque....with huge chunks of lobster and my companion got a huge salad that looked delicous.

We shared a divine creme brulee that was heavenly.

I took home enough food for at least two more meals.....

I live in Mineral Wells now but lived in the Dallas area for 10 years and we need a restaurant of this calibur here.  Thank you for bringing some class and an excellent dining experience westward.

I've bee here twice, both have been phenomenal.
The roasted garlic and brie appetizer is devilishly good. The French onion soup is equally addictive. The lunch entrees (salads, burgers)  are 5 star quality.
The Wild Mushroom also has a very impressive wine menu, and the servers are both friendly and knowledgeable.

I go to Weatherford for business meetings frequently, The Wild Mushroom experience is so special I usually schedule my meetings on a Thursday or Friday when they are open for lunch.

Consistently excellent service, food, hospitality, and atmosphere. You won't go wrong. From the time you walk in to the time you leave it is a great experience.

This is a great restaurant for a romantic dinner; the bar is a terrific low-light relaxed smoke-free place to meet Weatherford's more upscale imbibers and foodies.  If price is your first concern rather than quality, this is probably not the place for you.  But if you want Dallas style mixed with a relaxed, less intimidating, more friendly atmosphere, give The Wild Mushroom a try.  Oh, and most importantly, they have Guinness.

Ate a the Chef's table Friday 11/11/11. Fantastic. Multiple courses with a defined entree and dessert. So many tasting courses in between I lost count. Food was incredibly good! Highly recommended

So this is a HIGH end restaurant in Weatherford?  People were dressed casual to more dressy but it clearly has a classy feel.  We went on a Groupon and I am SO glad...cheapest meal on the menu is about $20 and several items were upwards of $80.  My husband had the Sea Bass and it was presented nicely but for $30 you will not leave full. It came with a couple squash spears and a mushroom rice that was really good.

I ordered the Chipotle Chicken pasta and paid $18 for 2 cups of bow-tie pasta in a very nice chipotle sauce.  No sides come with this so it is WAY overpriced!

Dinner is served with a tomato bread and was good but nothing to write home about.  All "sides" are extra - about $10 a pop.  By sides I mean salad, baked potato, steamed asparagus, they even had escargot as an appetizer!.  I had a spinach salad which was basically a nice plate full with 4 slices of strawberry in the corners, a few sliced almonds and a spicy dressing.  It was good but overpriced again. We ordered a baked potato and the presentation was great but the price was $6!

The chef and part owner Jerrett Joslin circulated and talked to customers.  They have a waiter just for water, a waiter just for wine, and a waiter for your order.  It's a high-end place with a high dollar price.

We've had dinner at the Wild Mushroom a number of times and it always has been pretty good.  No so this time.  We had a terrible experience. Ordered salmon and it was delivered still frozen in the middle. The manager took it back and replaced it with with the filet. In order to speed up the cooking, the Chef sliced it in half (i.e. two very skinny slices) and it came out way over cooked.  So, two tries to make a decent meal and neither worked.  The manager said he was sorry but, that really didn't fix the fact that we paid for a bad meal.  Conversely, the server (Brook) did an excellent job.  Very personable and professional.

I've had dinner at the Wild Mushroom several times and it's always been a fantastic dining experience. From the moment you are seated a server quietly "glides" to the table with fresh warm bread and water. The wine list has something for everyone, and the presentation of the bottle, the servers' attention to detail was impressive and surprising for a town like Weatherford! The chef, Jerrett Joslin, brings a bit of the northwest to the kitchen with dishes like scallops, salmon, and halibut, in addition to the prime rib dinners and steaks cooked to your liking. It's worth the drive from Fort Worth!
