We've been twice. First time was alright- lots of underage girls that I personally know drinking. Â My husband was in flip flops and was not a problem.
However, the second time we went with another couple- my husband in a white v-neck Tshirt and flip flops and the other man also had flip flops. The bouncer asked the men if the had just came from the beach. Told us we wouldn't  be coming in until they changed clothes.
No way will we be back- the man at the door is on a power trip because he working the door at a bar in Cedar Park.  Seriously?
My wife and I been going to the Wild West since it opened. Â We frequent it regularly on Friday evenings. Â The place used to be real good with friendly door guys and good DJ. Â Recently, everything has changed. Â Looks like they overhaul the staff. Â Now we have a DJ that plays stale music and he is never in his booth like the previous DJ. Â I used to walk in and everyone says Hi and ask how I was doing? Â Now, the staff is mostly unfriendly. Â I just don't get good vibes anymore. Â I'll give it 3 stars until it improves.
Review Source:the place itself is nice however my friends and I came from the rodeo last night and with purchase of the Rodeo tickets you get free admission to Wild West (we had purchase our tickets on Groupon and therefore we're using the mobile app). they turned us down for not having Paper Tickets you would think in a world where technology is major they would have been up to date on this and prepared to accept the Mobile tickets. we had to go back to the center in Acts random people for their paper ticket so we can get in. we thought maybe they scan the barcode in order to keep track so people don't duplicate tickets only to find out when we handed the girl are tickets for free entry she just put them in a bucket. ( these were tickets but people print it out of the computer, with the girl not looking at them we could have just gotten one ticket and copy it to a total of three times and no one would have ever known).. my advice to the people that run Wild West don't offer free admission if you can't accommodate all forms of ticket purchases and don't make such a big deal out of it when in the end you aren't even going to keep track of the paper tickets you let in..
Review Source:My friend and I went on a Saturday night with our wives and sister and law, and the bouncer guy denied us entry because my buddy had flip flops on. Â It was hardcore shady, and he was whispering about it with another bouncer while they deliberated right in front of us. Â It was pretty belittling, and disrespectful. Â Too bad they couldn't have just let it slide once and give us a heads up for the next time! Â Now they've lost our business for good! Â Lame!
Review Source:This place is horrible. Went last night for Roger Creager concert and the people running the place are idiots. We walked up and they rejected my husband for wearing rainbow flip flops. Do these people realize where they are located? And it's a country bar? Since when is this a high class club? We went home and changed - the only reason we came back is they already had our money since I bought my ticket online.
Once we got in, we saw 3 male teenyboppers with cargo shorts, flip flops and tshirts. What the hell? I'm going to be spending more money buying alcohol then these 18 year olds drinking coke, but you let them in with flip flops and reject us? Stupid. The place was not even 1/2 full, they weren't really in a place to be turning people away.
Also - we shouldn't have purchased our tickets online because they were actually cheaper at the door. $10 online + processing was more than the $12 at the door.
I only came to see RC, who was awesome, but I will never be going back. Not my type of place.
I went out Saturday night for my best friend's birthday. I used to frequent Graham Central Station, so we went to check out Wild West.
Pros: Â It's a clean place, has plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs. There is no smoking, but they do have an outside patio for you to go smoke. (The room not filled with smoke was really nice). I arrived at 10pm and there wasn't an issue with finding a parking spot either.
Cons: Â Saturday night, you would think there would be a good mix of people. Unfortunately, not so much. I'm in my late 30s and they were either too young or too old. Maybe Friday nights are better or maybe people were out of town? I was annoyed when one bar ran out of my beer of choice, Dos Equis. How can you run out of beer? I listen to country music on a daily basis. They played songs I have never heard of. Maybe I'm not in the loop, but a lot of them I was like, huh? what is this? Â If they play the song Footloose and you are familiar with the 80s movie version and not the 2011 version, stay in your seat. There is a line dance to this song. You will get trampled.
All in all, it was alright. I'm sure being in Wilco is an issue, too. ;)
Update: We never got a call back, but had to go BACK up there day of. Our party was huge (about 80+) and had the entire top reserved by our own right. However the positive was we had an excellent, excellent server that was on top of her game. Between her and going to the downstairs bar we made it through the night. I haven't been back since, and don't intend to unless I must--because of a mandatory special occasion :)
Review Source:SO - I confess that bars are really not my thing, in general. However, I do really enjoy live music. I went here on a Thursday night recently to enjoy a popular local country band.
I have no complaints.
At the door they were clearly checking ID's. The bouncer was visible but not angry looking. There was a wide age range of patrons and I enjoyed people watching. People seemed to be anywhere from young to old and plenty in the middle. I think you could enjoy this place at any adult age. (really especially the people watching - some of these folks can really dance. )
The place was clean. It did not smell like an ash tray or a urinal. There is an outdoor area with tables and chairs.
It's two story inside with balconies around the dance floor so you can be in the lime light or if you just want to be alone with your date or a group it's easy to do so. There are tables and chairs both up and down. The stage was easily viewed from all over inside.
The music and patron attire is mostly country - which is what one would expect from this theme of establishment. They could have skipped the other genres entirely as far as I'm concerned. Want another genre? There's a joint for that too.....
The atmosphere was laid back and casual. Seemed like a nice enough crowd. Lots of dancing. People seemed to be having a good time.
There did appear to be only one waitress for the entire club - but since I was there for the music it seemed enough to me.
We had a good time. We enjoyed the band. Again, no complaints. It's great to be able to take in live music in a clean, non-trashy environment! I will go again without concern should the opportunity present itself. I'll be watching the live band schedule for another enjoyable night out.
Cons: Â Â
I went there on a Wednesday night accompanied by three woman. We went because it was ladies night and I was looking for a venue to have a birthday party. I was highly disappointed by this bar. It wasn't the Texas "honkie tonk" bar I was expecting. They have a dress code for backwards baseball caps and then all they played for 20 minutes was Hip-Hop. Really?!?! I felt discriminated against because of my tattoo sleeves. I thought this was a country bar not another Dallas Night Club. If you want to feel like you are just another tab walking in the door and are going to be judged by what you are wearing and what tattoos you have then this is your club!
Pros: no smoking
The No Smoking policy is why I was originally attracted to Wild West. Â SOOOO nice. Clientele is nice - not creepy at all like GCS. Â Bathrooms are clean. Bar is roomy if its still early in the evening. Â Drink prices are ok, but they ARE stronger than the drinks served at GCS. Â The alcohol is not watered down. Wait staff is attentive unless it's late and busy...then you have to wait. Â Dance floor is all wood and is bigger than GCS. I like the upstairs seating option cuz you can look down at the people dancing if you're a people watcher. Â I've been twice on Saturday and the dance floor is roomy until about 11pm. Yes, there is a lot of young people, but I enjoy watching people. The only reason I took away a star is because they played the same song list both nights. C'mon...mix it up a little. Â They also play too much non-Country. (FYI - female and 48 if that helps any.)
Review Source:The bar is nice and no smoking is great but it's mostly 18 year olds. Don't know why a good bar would come to town and cater to people who spend 6 bucks to get in the door and not one dollar more. I'd appreciate a bar that catered to actual paying patrons. Been a couple of times and same thing, too many kids!
Review Source:The place is alright since there really isn't another dance hall like it in Cedar Park. The beer was decently priced, however, the service isn't all that great. The bartenders need more training and learn how to work a line better. It takes forever to order a beer and once you do, you continue to wait because they're making drinks for cocktail servers at the same time and seem to take care of them first instead of the customer who has been waiting in front of them for over 10 minutes.
The dance floor is small, but decently sized I guess. There isn't too much room around the dance floor on a weekend night. It's 18 and up, so that's negative. Also, there was a $6 cover at the door. I'm used to there not being a cover for women 21 and up (at other bars/dance halls). Call me spoiled and selective I guess. I may be back if I'm looking to stay within the Cedar Park radius and wanting to dance, but it won't be for a while.
The plus, good music and a good crowd.
