Tried to eat here one Sunday AM. Walked in, hollered, walked back to the kitchen...nuthin'. The giant TV playing Fox news was there (as suggested by angela b), which I took as incentive enough not to stick around waiting for them to get it together.
Three stars for running a clean -if strange-looking- family restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
We camped at Osoyoos Lake and had trouble finding a place to get breakfast in the area. Â We drove to Tonasket from Oroville, thinking it would have more to offer. Â There seemed to be one other place serving breakfast in town on a Sunday, but we settled on going to Wild Wood and were happy with our choice.
The decor leaves a lot to be desired. Â It's kind of amazing: cowboy boot silhouettes and lasso rope on the walls, with 80's sponge painting/splatter paint as a top border encircling the place. Right smack in the middle of one wall sits a 32" plasma tv set to FOX News. Â Priceless ambience for us Seattle city-folk.
Most importantly, the food is really good and the prices are phenomenal. The pancakes are dense and filling and you get as much Eggo syrup as you want to smother them with. Â The menu offers traditional food: 4 egg omelettes, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. Â We left full and happy...and in need of a nap.
They also serve lunch and dinner with likely similar low prices. Â And if you're looking for a good time, I did note the karaoke machine awaiting the nightfall crowd.
