Wood Duck the

Best bar in Carlinville! I don't live in Cville anymore, but visiting family for a week and stopped in to grab a couple of drinks with some friends. Drinks are fairly priced, the bartenders are professional and friendly, and the whole place was really clean for a bar. I was impressed to say the least. I enjoyed my time with my friends and will definitely stop in again.

WOW!

I grew up in this town, and always felt like the bars were pretty much divey little places that you would typically find in little towns like this.  When I returned "home" to visit my sis, I had the fortune of meeting a friend at the Wood Duck.  

I was in the mood for a good burger, and boy did this place satisfy!  The place was pretty much empty when I arrived, and to my dismay, the grill was closing soon.  The waitress came and took my drink order, and I told her I was craving a burger, but my friend hadn't arrived and was running just late enough that he wouldn't make it before the kitchen closed.  She told me not to worry, she'd get us our food and the kitchen wouldn't close until we had everything we wanted.  I was elated!

Not only did she keep the kitchen open and do so with a smile, the cook even came out and told me not to worry about rushing an order.  As it turns out, he was also the owner.  My friend seemed to know everyone there when he arrived, so the service went from extraordinary to down home friendly with his arrival.  

Thanks to my buddy for telling me about this place, and to everyone there for the great service and awesome food!  I was so excited about this place that I returned the very next night, and brought the whole family!  We had a great time, even better than the first night!  I cannot wait to get back again!
