Honestly this is one of the filthiest places I have ever frequented. The kitchen is so disgusting they have food sitting out uncovered with flies. The best part is the dirt dogs thatvroam through the kitchen and the bar at random. The ice machine has no door on it and has not ever been properly cleaned and covered in black mould and dead bugs. The owner frowns upon using hot water and cleanser in the sinks to do bar glasses, he is also a power hungry unprofessional slim ball that thinks sexually harrasing his younger female employees is acceptable. Once you turn him down he will embarrass the employee by screaming obscenities at her as well as tell customers " look at this stupid bitch." The drinks are completely overpriced and he refills high end liquor with well liquor and still charges premium prices. I would not recommend this place for anyone, realistically I won't even let my dog eat there.

I went to the Iron Horse Saloon also known as River Walk Entertainment Complex today with the family on our way home from the Cleveland Clinic. We were told to try the Ribs and Pulled Pork and that that was what they are "World Famous" for. So i had a full slab of the St Louis Ribs with with fresh Corn on the Cob and Baked Beans the wife had a 1/2 Slab with Salad and Mixed Veggies! the kids had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries and a Steak Burger with french fries as well. The Ribs were the Best i have ever had bar none and i have eaten a lot of ribs in my life! the Ribs and sauce were better than i have had at any rib burn off!! the corn on the cob was delicious as well my wife was just as impressed as i was and trust me she is more of a food critic than me. i had to tear the pulled pork sandwich out of my kids hands to even be able to try it he didn't want to even give up a bite the bun was made of pretzel roll and there was homemade coleslaw on top of the pulled pork and the combination of the BBQ sauce, pulled pork, Cole slaw and pretzel bun was just incredible. I actually ordered a second Pulled Pork sandwich to go for lunch the next day! and the Steak sandwich took high reviews from my other son as well he said the fries were the best he ever had and asked me several times on the way home why they were so good. I don't think they were hand cut but the seasoning that was tossed over the french fries was like a combination of garlic salt and different kinds of peppers? The place was not busy at all on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm which kind of concerned us when we first walked in and the front of the place which looked like it was going to be a pretty spectacular dinning room when finished was under remodel. The service was great the waitress was very friendly and kept the kids entertained while we were waiting on our food. after stuffing ourselves with large portions of food we were asked if we saved room for desert and we all declined cause frankly we had no room but she graciously came back with our change and some frozen flavored ice Popsicles for the kids that were on the house!
when i saw what i thought might be a negative review i felt compelled to take the time to write about our fantastic experience at the "World Famous" Iron Horse Saloon and River Walk Restaurant in Troy Township on route 422

My boyfriend and I went here because he remembered it as a kid when it was owned by Alessi's. Now the River Walk Tavern & Restaurant (Iron Horse Saloon) is nothing short of a trainwreck. We opted to sit outside, and the tables and chairs were stained, dirty, and yellowed. Their menu is unrealistic (for a country tavern) with filet mignon and escargot on the menu. We asked what was a popular dish and the VERY young waitress (like, possibly 12 years old) told us lots of fishermen order the walleye. So, that's what we got..and boy, was it gross! The breaded sandwiches still had the skin and scales. The prices were extremely high and our glasses were dirty. Our waitress had us TRY our water and icecubes first because she said they tasted funky and the "other waitresses told her not to tell us." Uh, can you say, GROSS?

We went inside to the go to the bathroom and got lost in a maze of HUGE restaurant, full of potential. One of the rooms (office?) was cluttered with garbage and even had a MATTRESS IN IT! We about died laughing. You have to exit through the dishwasher's room. Ridiculous. We won't go back. Enjoy your honkytonk biker haven, River Walk!
