When traveling it's often risky to trying a local establishment- that is why the national chains do so well and dotting the interstates. But we came across Your Game Bar & Grille and gave it a try. You should too.
It is very homespun classic take on a sports bar. Okay, the servers lack the spit and polish of a professional wait staff but that is part of the charm- because they seemed to genuinely care about making your experience a good one.
Owners or managers were always evident and involved in coaching the staff, greeting the customers, and overseeing the kitchen.
The food was fresh, portions were good, and the prices were reasonable. We were in and out in a reasonable amount of time, also. The menu has something for everyone plus they have a bar and takeout area.
We will be traveling this route several tines annually and have added Your Game B&G to the favorite places on our GPS.
Definitely one of the best looking places in south-central PA, as you can see from my pic of the bar... nice-lookin' granite bar, wood-fired pizza oven, lots of monitors on the walls.
Brief, 45 min, happy hour stop, before heading to the turnpike. Â Was greeted by a very personable hostess & equally friendly bartender.
Tried 2 flavors (Honey mustard and Buffalo) of $.50 HH wings...decent! Â I sat at the bar and only had the wings & a beer, so I can't comment on the rest of the menu. But, it looked pricey for being a place in the middle of nowhere.
At 4:40 PM, I was the only customer. There was lots of staff, suggesting that the place was going to fill up, which it started to, by the time I left.
One more thing, the floor of the men's room seemed surprisingly slippery, although it wasn't wet...it coulda been the soles on my new boots, but even so...
