Really loved the food! I had brisket and definitely the best I've had...juicy, tender, great smoke level. The coleslaw was fab, too; cold, crispy and not too sweet. The waitress was very pleasant, checked back frequently.  I would have given five stars, but it's dirty and the bathroom is disgusting. I think next time, probably takeout.

We had a great time at Zoog's.  My wife liked her ribs and I really liked my catfish.
The service was good as well.

The noise level was fine.  My kids were probably making the most noise in the dining area.  The decor is rather spartan, but it's clean.

Zoog came out and entertained our kids for a while.

I will definitely go back when I'm in town.

Overall, the food is pretty good. As far as Southern restaurants in the North go, this one is yummy. The meat is good. The ribs are spot-on!

There are a few minor issues that if fixed would go a long way to making this place wonderful! The sweet tea is not real sweet tea. It is from a lemon/sweet tea powder mix, it is not fresh brewed. That is a big downer when wanting good Southern food because sweet tea and BBQ go hand-in-hand. The décor of the restaurant is also run down. It looks dated and dingy, which makes me question how clean the kitchen is. And the bar on the other side of the restaurant is distracting because they play their music really loud and if you are sitting next to the bar, it is difficult to have a conversation with your family or date.

If you can look past a few minor cosmetic details, then the BBQ is worth it!

The food was good. If you go, ask  to have them put the pulled pork on the hamburger. It's spectacular.

I've had Zoog's twice now. Once at their smoker at the Chimacum Farmers Market and once at the restaurant which is in the old Hadlock House location.

Now this place is bare bones. They could spruce it up a bit I think but maybe that's the look they're going for.

We went here last weekend for dinner. I had been looking forward to trying it but hadn't had the chance yet since I don't live in the area anymore.

Their pulled pork is where it's at! Definitely order this. I also like their house made sauces including Sweet, House, and Spicy. They're all good!

Something that seems like could use some work perhaps are their sides. I ordered the spicy mac and cheese and wasn't a fan. It wasn't creamy and the flavor wasn't great.

My parents say their baked beans are really good so I'll try those next time. Dad liked his brisket and Mom liked her corned beef meal but it was a little strange that everything was served soaking in the broth.

    There's a bar attached.

I hope they are successful! I'll return when in town. I'd like to try their ribs.

The best barbecue ever!  My husband and I are barbecue fans and we've been to all the noted ones.  While there is little ambiance, they emphasize their food.  Try "the feast" for a little of everything.  Also, fabulous beans, coleslaw, and onion rings.
