215 Main

215 is open even when it's closed!  we are oakland/s fer's and this is our favorite place in this part of the world for a drink and maybe a bring-over dinner from uneda eat (across the street); we popped in yesterday, but 215 was closed and andrew (an owner) and his fiance were doing some deep cleaning there, but put all that aside and we had some very nice roederer sparkling and great conversation; just the four of us; this place a really a home run!! just go there!

As the previous reviewers said, the class of some hip SF place of the month without the attitude or pretensions. A locals joint where you are a stranger but once. The ability to order food "from anywhere" is just awesome.

This might be the Cheers of the Mendo Coast, only with real characters like Bill, the owner, who have all been around and opened this comfy, classy wine bar to feed the soul and lift the spirit.  Cathy and I had a party here for 40 and intend on having another soon.  Locals and weekend beachcombers all felt welcomed and good time had by all.  Want to sit at the bar with a pizza from The General or fish and chips from Chowder House, no problem. Obviously a task of love to open and run this gem and it shows.  Good for making small-talk with Mr. or Mrs. Right or even Mr. or Miss Right Now.

Wow! Had my welcome home to Mendo Party here in August and it was another Good Time. Things got too busy for Bill so Bill's daughter, Brawin of Redwood Fire, Co-owner Tish and another charming lady helped bartend. Chowder House catered with their baked salmon and sushi platters and even the party crashers couldn't resist pigging out.  Thanks to all.
