I LOVE the 567 Center For Renewal (art center/music venue)! Â I prefer this place over the Macon Arts Alliance. Â Thanks to the friendly employees and volunteers, the 567 center's atmosphere is so laid-back! Â In addition, they have rock concerts and painting classes. Â When I hang out in downtown Macon on First Fridays, I always come here to observe the new art exhibits, socialize, eat the free light refreshments and to relax to the live music. Â For First Friday, the musician (usually a guitarist) performs downstairs but there was one occasion when three violinists performed upstairs. Â There are some art displays downstairs, however, you have to go upstairs to observe most of the art exhibits. Â Unlike the Macon Arts Alliance First Friday opening reception, the 567 Center for Renewal does not serve alcohol. Â They serve bottled water or soft drinks. Â If you happen to be on Cherry Street on a First Friday, check out the 567 Center for Renewal! Â It might become your favorite art center. Â :-)
