7800 Bar & Grill

Awesome service from Shaina P and a great spot to sit after a day of skiing and riding out on the patio.  

The special was a flatbread margharita pizza and it was absolutely delicous!

Had a couple glasses of chard and my friend had some beer.  

But the flatbread pizza was amazing!

So this season the 7800 has gone from strength to strength. Absolutely the best deal on the mountain. Great food much cheaper than the resort and great beer prices - $4 premium drafts! They still have a couple of service blips and service can be slow sometimes - BUT that is also true of the Vail resort places. The people here are so friendly. It is family friendly. We have had dinner in the evening with our 8 year old. Kids are fine until around 9pm on Saturday when the live music starts and things change. They serve a local coffee for your morning latte - Blind Dog - pretty good!
Whether it is a snowy day sat by the fire or a sunny day on the deck, 7800 is the place to be at Kirkwood - support the Independents!

7800 is a popular bar/restaurant at the Kirkwood Ski Resort. Located on the 1st floor of the Towers building, it offers a full bar (daily $4 microbrews and $2 Coors), restaurant, fireplace, and an ample amount of table seating. There is also an outdoor patio with seating, which is a great place to hang out on a sunny day. My friends and I like to meet here for drinks, food, and the down to earth ambiance.

The food is usually pretty good (I'm not too picky when I'm cold and have been skiing all day) but service can be very hit or miss. Come when it's crowded and you can be waiting 1 1/2 hours for your food - SERIOUSLY. They don't seem to be prepared for a full house as their standard reply for a ridiculous wait time for your food is "We're really busy right now". I've worked in the restaurant industry before and this should NOT be your standard excuse for slow service. If they could improve upon this, I would happily give 5 stars to 7800.
