this establishment really needs to teach its staff how to operate credit card machines. My party was charged $150.00 on two separate cards on a bill that was $34 because the waitress had no clue what she was doing, in the end the bill was still charged incorrectly to the cards. Food was okay, nothing special. Can't judge the drinks because we only had beers. View is great.

This is a great place to eat if you want to enjoy looking at the Shark River and enjoy great food. Food and drinks are pretty pricey but I'm assuming its for the possible high rent they have. They are expanding and have a second bar now. They also said they are looking to put an actual restaurant in the marina building.

The 9th Ave. Pier offered a beautiful location to enjoy a drink with friends.  It is right on the water and while the food is only mediocre the view is spectacular.  I had the Sirloin Steak kabob.  The menu is actually quite inventive but eh quality was only average.  I had to ask myself if I will come back and I certainly hope to- hence the 4 star review.  There are some negatives to this place- the ordering system is quite odd.  You order your drinks from a server and food from a separate tent/ stand.  You pay for the food as you order it and it is delivered to your table.  Drinks are paid to the waiter.  It is a bit confusing but it is pure genius for groups as you can each order what you like and pay for yourself.  Tip: Bring a jacket!  It gets cold on the water.

I feel that I need to write 2 separate reviews...

    Atmosphere: 5 stars
What a beautiful view of the marina. This along will guarantee that I return. I arrived around 5pm, just in time to enjoy the warm sun and see the sun set as I was eating dinner. I was impressed that there live music, even for a Wednesday night.

    Food: 3 stars
The food was okay, nothing to rave about. I ordered the crab cake and was disappointed when I realized that it was fried. There was also burgers and other fish dishes on the menu. The servers only took your drink order but were very attentive. There is a full bar but no bar menu.. basically the server let us know that they can make whatever drink we wanted. There are no drafts on tap, the only beer available comes in a can.

After going to bars on the NJ shore for years, this bar is truly one of a kind. It is nothing I have seen before on the NJ shore, this close to where I was staying in Howell. Located off of 9th ave, right near the water, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing beverage, without the douchary of most NJ Shore bars, which made it one of my favorite places. The crowd is older late 20's and up, which I am sure lead to the atmosphere being as chill as it was. I highly recommend the Miami Vice drink. It was the perfect summer drink. If you are looking for a place close to the shore, but not in the mood for the NJ shore crowd, this bar is your bar!

Split a double wide, put bathrooms in one side and a portable kitchen that makes bad food in the other side, drop these on a pier in Belmar Marina, mix in some live music, over priced food and drinks, top it off with no service but great views and you have a place that I will visit again only if I get dragged kicking and screaming.

This place just opened this summer. It's located in the Belmar Marina on hwy 35 and 9th ave in belmar.  It's essentially a long patio that extends into the marina with awesome 180 waterfront  views.  There is a big covered bar and numerous tables with umbrellas.  9th ave is primarily a bar but they also serve food.  They have apps, sandwiches and seafood.  Also check out the raw bar serving clams, oysters and shrimp.  The food is decent. Nothing great.  It's all about the view, drinks and live music. This place gets packed on weekends especially on saturday and sunday afternoons.  A great place to enjoy a summer afternoon to unwind.  I should also mention that the people who own this place also own the patio bar in point pleasant.  It's practically a clone.

It's a new spot that opened up in Belmar

Pro - on the water, live band (at least on Sunday), good service
Con - waitress only serves drinks & if you want food, you have to go to the front, order & pay for it and then someone will bring them to your table. Expensive drinks & food, $46 for 4 appetizers.
