Abalos' Mexican Food Restaurant

Everybody in Hereford loves this place. The bowl of chips will always be full, the waitresses will keep checking on you. The food is ok, just greasy from too much cheese. The fajitas are not as good as most places. Stay away from the buffet, lots of old food if you go at the wrong times.

The tablecloths are dirty and greasy, as are the menus. I have sent back silverware a few times because they still had food particles on them.

The waitresses were always kind and on the ball. Lots of hard workers here. You never see anyone standing around with their phones out. Ever.

There are good things about this place, and not so good things.

Been eating here for 40 years. 2nd generation owner. Great salsa. Good taco. Interesting deep fried chile relleno. My favorite is the carne guisada enchiladas. Overall great traditional Tex-Mex!

Today, at lunch here at Mrs Abalos', I watched my mom stuff four tortillas and three sopapillias into her purse.

Then my dad left a $2 tip on a $23 check.

I'd missed my parents.
