This place is about the best thing to ever happen to Center Moriches. Thisrestaurant created a true competition for Antons.

The staff is excellent, they go out of their way to make EVERYONE feel welcome.

For me, the chicken and riccotta slice is the best. If I were to sit down and have a meal, oh the choices are so many. I guess the Shrimp Fra Diavolo is my favorite. It has just the right amount of spice and heat to make you want to gobble down more.

I would recommend this place to anyone!

We order from here regularly. Everyone knows us by name and the family and staff are very friendly. They offer a nice variety from slices to complete dinners so there's something for everyone. Being from Brooklyn I"m a pizza snob and I find their offerings to be above average for Long Island.  One of the top 2 pizza places in Center Moriches.

I'm kinda shocked by the low reviews for Alitalia. I used to work nearby and would hit up Alitalia at least twice a week for lunch.  So much better than your other options in the area: Subway, the disgusting chinese buffet, McDonald's etc.  They make about fifteen different varieties of pizza and the pizza is constantly moving out the door. The kitchen area and dining area are both spotlessly clean. The service is always uber friendly and fast.  The margarita pizza and grandma pizzas are excellent. The barbeque chicken pizza is decent.  The prices are average.  Definitely better than the reviews let on.

I give this place 2 stars because the service really stinks. If you sit down in there and order a couple different things with your friends, they dont give it to you all at once. You're done eating and some one else is getting their pizza or sandwhich or whatever.
Theyre also rude behind the counter. It seems like every time i go, i get an attitude for no reason. Its so wierd. It makes it unpleasant and awkward to go on with the process of paying, sitting, and eating. On top of the bad service, the pizza is average.

The further out east you go...the worst the pizza gets. I'm pretty sure that's in some kind of science book.

Place looked cozy and nice....the pizza at the counter looked banging. Guy behind the counter gave me the nodd which meant he knew i meant business.

    I get the basics 1 Sicilian 1 regular..well done...not chancing anything.

    I nibbled both...and i was pissed off.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place after reading all of the reviews.  The guy behind the counter was super nice, and the specialty slice I got was wonderful and garlicky!!  So good, I wanted another one!!  Going back today in fact!!!

The pizza is pretty decent, only been here a few times. Not my first choice for a pizza place but I wouldn't have a problem going here again.

Reading the review below me on how the food is always way too hot, I actually think I do remember that too. But even if the pizza is too hot, at least that means its fresh right?

One should not burn their HANDS on their garlic knot. This I know to be true. Alitalia isn't burn-your-throat hot, this isn't even burn-the-middle-of-your-esophagus hot, this is singe-your-intestines hot. I'm not talking burn-your-mouth-because-you-bite-into-it-immediately, I mean scold-your-entire-oral-cavity-AFTER-patiently-watching-the-steaming-mass-cool-for-6-minutes-because-15 minutes-is-apparently-the-quota-for-leaving-a-slice-in. (Why didn't I intervene? Because regulars take unflailing precedence over newcomers, an extreme adaptation of a common trend.)
There was eventually nourishment involved, dished up by guys trying to sound Italian (to their credit they're legit Italian-American). My slice and a knot ran be $2.68, setting me back more than some nearby spots but offering a decent-sized knot to boot. There's a restroom in the joint, which is in good shape and well-maintained/clean, and does have some partial wait service for the glossy tables, set at the back of the trying-to-be-elegant-and-vast space with some partitioned tables. Tunes are piped in overhead while the (pretty substantially sized and apparently monopolizingly employed) family runs the counter and oven. (It (almost) goes without saying that family friends get the royal treatment here) I'd get shot by 95% of my relatives for saying this, but arfter a while all the slices and bagels I've consumed blend together. There's a battle between pretty good and pretty bad; it's not a continuum and standouts are rare, resulting in a binary, polarized mess. I realize this might be my being jaded, as I normally hate slices elsewhere in the country, but things within a 40-mile radius inevitably blur.

Why 2 stars? An average slice at an average price with a too-long-in-the-oven policy = 3-2. I support the father-and-kids family enterprise, high ceilings and ornate decor, and wait service, but stick to Anton's, or even Brothers 4 circa 1997.
PS There's a Wednesday $10.95 large pie takeout special.
