  My friend and I stayed weekly in Dixon for a year and we frequently would "bar hop." Coming from Chicago, we were excited to find cheap beer in this town. We came here a few times to enjoy $2 beers and local conversation. The crowd was a bit creepy and questionable, but perhaps part of the Dixon charm.

  They actually have good deli sandwiches and bar food.  There is a Democrat campaign office down the street and they had the Cubs and Whitesox games on the tvs so there are mostly democrats and cubs fans hanging out there.  Great prices.

  This is a local joint just a stones throw from the Rock river.  I had one beer and left but I'd be back .  Interesting crowd for a Saturday afternoon in January. I didn't eat here but the burgers smell terrific.  Decent juke box and one pool table.
