This was, once upon a time, one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Santa Fe. How the mighty have fallen. The menu has gone stale. The food was very good, but not amazing, even though the prices should suggest amazing. Sticky toffee cake with popcorn ice cream and bits of popcorn over the top was really the best thing we tried. The rest of it could be had elsewhere at more bargain prices. The bar was lovely, with a great bartender and some good choices of things not found elsewhere. Â The hotel should be looking for a chef equally creative to restore its restaurant back to the culinary pantheon of Santa Fe restaurants.
Review Source:Had the yummiest meal here tonight! Hubby had the soup and the lingcod, which he really liked. My mother-in-law had the salad with watercress mousse and spring vegetables, along with a special order of the grilled salmon without the chile almond crust because she can't eat spicy. I had the egg and spinach ravioli, the heirloom tomato salad, and the goat cheese gnocchi--SO good!
Then for dessert my mom-in-law had the almond olive oil cake with the olive oil sherbet--she was so tickled pink by her dessert that she requested the chef Juan to sign a copy of the menu--and he did!
Service was exceptional! The maitre'd and our server as well as the busman were all very friendly and attentive--thank you!!
In like, but not in love, with Anasazi Restaurant. Â However, I think this is mostly a matter of personal preference, rather than something lacking in the establishment. Â The menu offered variety, but nothing really jumped out at me. Â I went with the chicken/chicken enchilada entree. Â The server gently tried to steer me to something else, but again, nothing was really exciting me. Â The food was fine, but the prices were such that I really need to get more than fine. Â My friend, though, loved her scallops and pork belly entree. Â The beet salad was absolutely, insanely, out of this world---defintely a keeper.
Atmosphere---very attractive. Â There were few diners here due to lack of snowfall. Â So, we didn't have difficulty getting in. Â I understand that this isn't the case at other times.
So, I'm not warning people away, but check out the menu before you commit.
