Reasonably priced drinks and food. Â Went when it was busy, sat at a table in the bar and it seems they need more staff but I had no service issues, after getting the bartender's attention, he was quick with the drinks and fine to deal with (cause you know, you sometimes get the bartender whose like, I'll get to you when I do, so I'm going to be unfriendly).
Wings were great, as was the salad and chicken pot pie things.
Will definitely be back.
Friendly staff. New England clam chowder was delicious. Burger was huge and served with homemade cole slaw and shoe string fries--very tasty as was the Fish n chips. Finished it up with Irish Cheesecake. Although its called and Irish pub, I was surprised that there weren't more Irish food choices--didn't even have Shepards Pie or Guinness beef stew. I'd go back though. Cool castle setting with a lovely deck overlooking Putnam Lake.
Review Source:Please keep in mind this is casual bar fare, so my rating is based on exactly that. I really didn't expect very much from this place but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Really cool castle ambiance, loved the decor, and the view is really nice.
Right off the bat, the service was great, I don't remember our waiters name, but he was also working behind the bar if that narrows it down any. Super polite, really attentive and refilled our soda without our even asking.
Must say the Ruben egg rolls could use a little work, loved that it came with a nice fresh leafy green salad though. They seemed to lack in flavor and were very light on the cheese, probably wouldn't order them again. Initially I ordered the open face brisket plate but they ran out, so as not to take forever I just went with the meatloaf. Normally I would never order this but I was very curious if I would actually get Haricot Vert at a bar, happy to say I did, and well seasoned no less. Since I kinda rushed through to substitute the brisket, I hadn't noticed that the meatloaf was wrapped in bacon. I really hate when bacon is incorporated into food unless it can retain a crispy texture, so I peeled that off real quick. Now I'm a food snob and a cook, so naturally I will say I like my meatloaf better, but still in all it was pretty darn good, the mashed potatoes were kinda bland, the green beans were nice and garlicky.
My husband got the Philly cheese steak with Guinness cheese sauce, and I must say I was jealous I didn't get that myself, soooo friggin good!
I would definitely come back and am so happy to have found some good eats around here.
