I have been there three times, and all three times it was incredible. Â The menu changes every week, and she posts the new menu on Aquarelle's Facebook page every Thursday.
The first time we came in she accommodated a large party with a wheel chair, with no problems. Â We had scallops and they were fabulous! Â We will follow the menu and be there when the scallops come back.
The second time we came, it was packed, and once again we were accommodated with a large group. Â We were seated as quickly as possible, and treated with respect. Â The food was excellent and the service was great. Â
The third time I came was awesome. Â I brought my sister from out of town and we had great food. Â I had seared tuna and she had the pork chop. Â We had a couple glasses of wine and it was great. Â By the time we left on a sleepy Monday night it was packed!
I would recommend this place to all my family and friends!
Where's the other star! Â I need six! Â
The scallops, oh the scallops...I took my parent there, and for the 45 years they have been together my father was convinced my mother didn't dislike scallops as much as she just had never had them cook quite right. Well, we got our food with precision, hometown service; and before I knew in my father is prattling on, "well that's it! Without a doubt, she really doesn't like scallops!"
So thank you Aquarelle for a very pleasant, accommodating and memorable evening. Look forward to our next culinary adventure.
I want to start by saying they are still only 3 months new but they have to get their shit together quickly or it will be their demise. I am a 20 yr. veteran operator and the place holds a lot of promise if they can buckle down and focus. After all, there are only 8 tables or so and 10 bar stools.
My wife, daughter and I went for dinner a few nights ago and it took over 50 minutes for a burger and kale salad to hit the table. To make matters worse, my wife ordered our daughter's (3 yr. old) Â food first and they pawned off a mistake burger from earlier in the night. We know for two reasons: one, we ordered and it was delivered 1 minute later. Two, on a soggy bun and not even to the specified temperature, medium. Really?? I know this would fly with lots of people but COME ON. Your plate cost is $3 at most. Eat the cost versus pissing off a first time patron.
Then we got the bill and it was $90 w tip for two burgers, a few glasses of wine and a piece of carrot cake. $17 for a burger in Booneville... pinch yourself. Those are SF prices at a high end hotel.
Even as I slam this new digs I see a staff thirsting for guidance and are polite just all look like deer in headlights. We will be back for one more time before we mark it off a short list up there. Â I know the Chef is the owner and her husband arrived mid way thru our dinner to help but he wasn't very effective. He lumbered around clumsy and not knowing how to take charge. Learn the biz pal as it is your wife's passion and she needs your help on the front. Kinda odd you were wearing a beat up sweatshirt and your staff had black button down shirts on and black slacks. Perception is reality is all, nothing personal.
Ultimately, word around town is it is hit or miss and that is precisely what happened to us. It was a miss for the most part. Best of luck, no one said owning a restaurant is easy.
Amazing!!!! I'm not sure how they fit so much awesome in such a small place, but they pulled it off. World class dining at a reasonable cost. Don't even bother with the menu just have whatever the server suggests and enjoy, everything I have tried has been delicious. The chef rocks!!!
Review Source:Great addition to Anderson Valley. Â Simple, well-executed food with an emphasis on fresh, local California cuisine.
Reasonably priced, attentive staff and most importantly...weekly changes to the menu! When you live here you can get pretty tired of places that don't change the menu or rely a lot on the deep fryer.
(Would make an awesome spring/summer brunch location once they get established. Dinner-only right now.)
The locals are so happy to have a great resturant at affordable prices. Â Wonderful sea food. Â The chef is home grown Anderson Valley and has been off working as a private chef in the world of 5 star dining. Â They have brought their cosmopolitan experiences to our beautiful valley. Â My husband and I had the locally grown, organic kale salad, followed by a beautifully balanced chicken curry. Â Local wines- we are famous for our Chardonnay, Reislings and Gwurz. Â Prices were more than reasonable. Â Looking forward to dining there frequently
