I love Archie's Place! Everytime I need to go to Calipatria I eat there. In the past 2 years I have been there 4 times and in a couple of weeks it will be by fifth.
Recently on a trip to the central coast from Holtville we drove through here. It was around lunch time and my husband had no clue there was a resturant located in Calipatria. I assured him there was and it's good.
This clean little hole in the wall place is easy to drive by, but it's right on the main road and has a big sign. It just looks like a house, but when you come in you are suprised how big and nice it is.
The owners keep it super clean.
My favorite things about this place is:
It's Really Clean
Great Customer Service
Food is tasty
and is very, very afforadable
My husband and I left there feeling full and happy. My lunch was under 6 dollars and I couldn't eat all of it!
I would recommend this place to anyone visiting or driving through Calipatria.
Just make sure you have cash, they don't take cards. :)
Just this past weekend we did a road trip out to the Salton Sea, and Painted Canyons. We were very hungry, and randomly found this cafe to eat at. I must admit, we had low expectations when coming into the restaurant. Little did we know how good this place was:) The service is great, and the food is good! I ordered the Asado Carne burrito. It was soooo tasty, and huge all for $4.85--- what a steal! When talking to the owner's more, we found that they named the restaurant after their son Archie-- who is such a cute little boy with a big smile. When leaving the restaurant I felt good to have ate my lunch there and not at the hotel chain steer-house down the street. This place is authentic, and has a nice family feel to it.
