Start off with the good- the service ranges from "not bad" to "pretty good.

Ok, to the bad- This place has a funny smell, like feet and... something. Definitely feet, though. The food, it ranges from "average diner" to "nasty!".

I would recommend skipping this place.

I went to Caldwell, OH on a business related trip and have come to the conclusion  that Caldwell is a prime example of everything that is wrong with Ohio.  Its behind the times by about 20 years and none of the corn fed hill jacks really seem to care about it.  Most of the time it stinks of trash, sulfur or some other offensive odor.  Its common that an outsider loses faith in civilization after spending more than a couple hours in Caldwell.  The best thing that could happen to it is that it becomes leveled by a devastating  super tornado, centralized nuclear fallout or some other catastrophic event...if only so that the town can start over with a clean slate.  The only redeeming quality of Caldwell is this restaurant's lunch time fish sandwich.  The Inside was flaky and white while the outside was golden and crisp.  The coleslaw was a little on the mediocre side but the crushed ice in my water glass was a nice touch.   Prompt and friendly service but cash and check only...

Interesting small town diner. The restaurant is a long aisle with booths on either side. I am in Caldwell for work so I needed to find a place to grab lunch. When I walked in I wasn't sure whether to find a seat or wait to be seated. There wasn't a sign explaining what to do & no staff in sight. I looked around for a sec & then decided to seat myself. Of course the only tables available were on the other side of the aisle of booths. As I walked to a table everyone looked up at me. It was very awkward. I chose it because it seemed like a local restaurant & there weren't many other choices in town. Well, it definitely is a local place & it seemed like everyone there was local & knew each other. I have to say I felt out of place.
I decided to try their signature burger & fries. The burger was good but was really hard to eat & fell apart. It was served on texas toast & had 2 burger patties. A few fries weren't cooked all the way through. The 'special sauce' on the burger was so runny most if it ran off the sandwich & onto the plate.
The service also wasn't great. Both waitresses came by at the beginning for my drink order. Then when my food arrived no one checked back with me until I was almost finished. I could have used more than the 1 napkin since the sandwich was so messy with the sauce dripping everywhere. When I was almost done with my sandwich the waitress checked in & got me more napkins.
Overall this place was fine but nothing special. Decent food for the price.
