It's a bit dive-y and I like that about a place.
Pros:
Free WiFi
friendly service
food is alright
Cons:
More cigarette smoke than I want ever but especially if I'm eating dinner
Out of date menus so a few things they don't even serve anymore (The onion rings mentioned a review from March 2011...yeah, they ever have them, they just haven't updated the menu in almost a year.)
Augie's doesn't try to be more than it is and I respect that about it and there are always a decent amount of cars in the parking lot when I drive by but unless your typical dive bar is where you're looking to have your dinner, maybe just go there to drink.
They were out of a lot of things, including onion rings(wtf?), but the food and drinks were good and they had a good classic radio station  spitting out elton join and the rolling stones. People stared at us much less than in every other place we'd been in savannah, and our waitress was nice. We'd definitely return, although we'd be more weary of coming here at night since we're queer.
Overall, good food, good prices  wonderful music, you can smoke indoors, and people leave you alone.
