We were told on arrival that they didn't have a lot of food but that it would be refilled in 10 minutes. Â We figured we could wait that long but the food was never refilled, our soda order took forever to be served and our special order of coxinha was never served. Â We were still charged full price even though there was no food in the buffet. Â Very unhappy customers.
Review Source:We went to Avani's for lunch because we heard a lot of good reviews about this place. We were immediately greeted and seated by Pedro, the husband of Avani. Since it was our first time, Pedro explained that this was a buffet and showed us where the plates, utensils, salad bar, dessert table, and hot food stations were located. Most of the items were vegetarian dishes and there were a couple of non-vegetarian dishes. We tried almost everything and it was delicious! I think our favorites were the beef stew and vege corn patties. It was also very afforadable...about $12/person. Thank you Avani's for a wonderful meal. We'll see you again!
Review Source:Was on my way to Chicago from Detroit and dropped in for what turned out to be a lovely lunch.
The serving was buffet style and the food, I'm told, is prepared from scratch daily. The cuisine was international with mainly vegetarian fare. I especially liked their sauces with white rice and fabulous soup - especially on a cold day. What impressed me was the detail brought to the table such as toasting the bread used as a side for the soup. It almost felt like I was in someone's home - the friendliness of the staff was nice to experience and the freshest of food I have tasted at a restaurant ,in a very long time.
Looks like an excellent addition to this area. I will definitely be back!
