B J's Oasis

This is my favorite bar in Gardner because it's the most down-to-earth of any of them.

This was one of the darkest bars I've been to. We were blinded for a few moments upon entering, then re-blinded when we stepped back outside.

I took a break to use the restroom. The restroom area had an exterior sink and 2 unmarked doors for the toilets. While I was taking care of business I noticed that all of the graffiti was in women's handwriting. "I don't know if it matters which door you choose," I said upon returning, "but if it does, I choose poorly."

My friends started snickering, both having chosen the correct door. I went back for another look and discovered that the men's room was indeed labeled, in marker, but the text was visible only if standing directly in front of it.

We all dug the antique cigarette machine. It was currently empty but the owner said it does indeed still work.

Not that anyone would think they could walk into an unfamiliar bar and write a check, but just in case:  No checks unless Hoot approves! Turned out our bartender was Hoot himself, but we had cash so no matter.

Limited basic domestics on tap (Bud Light & Coors Light), with a somewhat wider selection of bottled beer.  Jukebox, darts, pool tables.  AKA the usual dive bar essentials.
