Family owned and operated, this is country breakfast at its finest with a splash of city sophistication. Intelligentsia coffee and fantastic baked goods make this small restaurant worth stopping for. The breakfast sandwiches make this place worth moving here.
They also are great at catering.
We stopped here on our way from Connecticut to upstate NY over the holidays. It was exactly what we needed--a quick place to have a delicious breakfast. The food was good, the coffee great, and best of all, the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I love this kind of local spot and hope to visit again soon.
Review Source:YAY! Â This place is my favorite place to each lunch out of all options in NYC and beyond. Great sandwiches, excellent breakfast, such good snacks. My only complaint is that they do not use Harney Chai for their Chai Latte - they use a different brand which has grit in it and is not as high quality. But that is nitpicking, to say the least. Â SUCH A WELCOME ADDITION!!
Review Source:Absolutely as good as it gets!! Â We met close friends for breakfast and had an over the top time here at Back in the Kitchen. Â Kathy and the rest of the staff were wonderful! Â Our breakfast dishes were exceptional and the pancakes, WOW! Â Give them a try, you will certainly be glad you did. Â This is a must go to breakfast place in Dutchess County! Â I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.
Review Source:Back in the Kitchen is a great boost to the quality of life in this part of Dutchess County! Â The Intelligentsia coffee is worth the trip itself, and the pastries, sandwiches, and salads are all winners.
After breakfast or lunch here, pay a visit to Andrea upstairs for some of her fresh pasta to make for dinner - it's perfectly textured and maybe the best pasta we've ever had, other than what I've made by hand myself.
The perfect egg sandwich. Try it on a croissant. Â Cappuccino was creamy and delicious and just the right temp. Staff was very friendly. Love the decor - a great mix of modern and vintage with an agricultural influence. Â Loved the nostalgic photos of farming and family life hanging on the walls. Want to go back for more.
Review Source:Charming breakfast and lunch cafe, featuring farm fresh local produce and dairy (including Amenia's Hammond Dairy yogurt), Â tasty baked goods, marvelous soups (love that curried butternut squash!) and an amazing cup of coffee. Â I had a proscuitto, fig jam and fontina panini that was fabulous. Â You can definitely taste the love in the food here!
Review Source:Great spot for coffee and a sandwich. They serve delicious coffee or tea and the bacon egg and cheese is just about as good as it gets. Served fresh on a Chapati roll you can tell that alot of care and thought goes into each and every dish. All fresh and made here. And hey where else do you get to sit on a tractor seat when eating your meal. And I think they make one of the best Latte's around. Can't wait to go back. Â Enjoy!!
