The Back Porch at Oakwood Inn

My wife and I eat at The Back Porch quite frequently and I have nothing but good things to say about the restaurant and the entire Oakwood resort. If you are looking for a nice place to go out grab a delicious burger, have a drink, and relax by the lake this is definitely the restaurant to try. Out of all of the places to eat on and around Lake Wawasee The Back Porch has the best service and food. All of the waiters/waitresses are attentive and help add to the relaxing atmosphere. Even if it is too hot to sit outside, or it is raining it has a covered porch and some nice tables inside by the bar. My wife and I enjoy sitting by the water and watching the boats pull up at the dock by the restaurant. (the best view of any restaurant on a lake in the area!)

I recommend getting the Italian hamburger or Italian chicken sandwich. The best part is the incredible pretzel bun their burgers come on.

Even though I don't have kids I have noticed it is pretty popular for entire families to come by boat and eat there. This makes for a fun family environment, especially on the weekends.

I would highly recommend The Back Porch to all of my friends for a great meal by the lake.

The bar had nice view off the water and had drinks. If you are looking for a quality meal go somewhere else. The service was near 2 hours long my order was lost twice. The manager did make it right by compensating my bill, but I wanted a decent meal which this is not the place. Fine for drinks and music with patio off water
