Back Porch Bar & Grille

This place is a local treasure. Don't expect anything fancy but it is great. Order the Blue Cheese Tobasco Burger and you won't be sorry. Mahi BLT is delicious as well!

Great quiet spot on a marina...can be hard to find.  Small....locals...but the foods is seriously below average.  Fresh fish..not so much fried stuff.  Give it something interesting that makes you stand out.  Again...great spot to watch boats and drink an American lager...but with some changes...and a new menu...I'd go there again.

"The Porch" as it known, is a locals, boaters & (caddies they are too noisy) place. Pretty much the same crowd, I see when going there. Its decor is VERY old and menu VERY dated (who serves liver & onions anymore?). But, what John prepares off the outdated menu is OK, the burger is the best meal to try if you never been there, on occasion there is a special. But they always run-out too soon. The kitchen closes at 9PM

Your not going to find anything more than the routine beers and cocktails at the bar. Nonetheless Patti is a good, competent, daytime bartender. The night time bartenders... well that can be pot-luck (as can be the wait-staff). The bar itself is VERY small with maybe 10-12 stools, if your luck is good you can get a stool (it can become very noisy in the bar at times). Otherwise there is 4-5 tables to sit at. Several flat screens, but, most of the time they are always stuck on the Golf Channel or Fox news. Sadly no satellite TV for other programs and sports, so local cable is it.

Its best asset is the Porch that overlooks the Beaufort river, great at certain times of the year, but, when the bugs appear, winds start, or leaves are dropping, most move indoors to the indoors porch. Watch your fingers on the sliding door to the porch. I've met the owners, nice people, however they seem to be frozen in place and have made no real effort to bring this place up to date... it is - what it is.

Bottom line - everyone should try it out, enjoy the view!
