The best bistro on the water place at the Lake. The best docks. The best bands. The best looking crowd by far. The best parking if you come by car.
Get the pork tenderloin sandwich. Nothing else matters except maybe the grouper strips.
The live band on Friday nights is the ONLY way to begin a summer Lake weekend.
I give this place 3 stars for the location, & docks. Â Located at the 17 mile marker in Osage Beach.
Â
There are plenty of docks here to park your boat. Although on busy weekends if you are not in the ELITE CLUB and have an expensive large cruiser you might not get a place to park.
Â
They actually turned us away when trying to dock our 38ft. Fountain (cigarette racing style expensive boat) because they save the docks for cruisers only. Needless to say we had words with the manager about this.
Â
We were wanting to dock and were told to move & leave so this 40ft. Formula could dock there instead, which happened to be our neighbors, and there boat was older and didn't cost them nearly as much as ours. They said too bad your boat can go park on the small not very nice docks if you want to come in.
Â
So beware which day and time you plan to go!!
The entertainment outside is good, they usually have pretty good bands!
Everyone here is very clicky, it is all about looks and what you are wearing. If you plan on coming in after a day of boating and swimming make sure you take your best outfit and makeup bag with you or you will be out of place for sure!
As far as the food goes, it used to be better several years ago, although the fried potato salad is pretty good. Â Raw Deal Thursday's are expensive now, which are deals on shrimp, wings & oysters.
Backwater Jack's came highly recommended from some friends who vacation in the area regularly so we made a point to stop there for lunch. Â Service was slow and a group a few tables over was quite obnoxious - dropping f bombs and being generally loud. Â There were children in the area and it was obvious that their parents were not pleased. Â The rum runner and pain in the a were overpriced and a little watery. Â Buffalo chicken tenders were good but not good enough to salvage the total experience. Â I might give it a second chance but I'm not sure.
Review Source:Solid spot. I've been coming here with my family for years and while, I don't think its the same anymore, it's still a good spot with decent food. Yeah, the view isn't as great as some places, but it's nice that it's back in a cove where you don't have to worry about your boat getting ravaged by the waves.
