Because I had read so many favorable reviews, perhaps I was expecting this place to be a cut above average. But average it is. Yes, we sat outside and had a nice view, and yes, the pies are good, but otherwise, strictly average and Door County is home to many above average restaurants so there's no reason to settle. The rolls were of the basic food service variety, the seafood chowder had big pieces of fake crab and little flavor in any case (no competition for the Cookery's whitefish chowder, that's for sure). My whitefish sandwich with cajun seasoning was really spicy hot (and I do like spicy food). My husband thought his whitefish with the same seasoning was fine (and for $18, came with three little potatoes and a cup of soup---actually my sandwich with ala carte sides was a better value), so who knows? But the sides were ordinary, service was OK.... as I said, a nice location and view, but the food is not anywhere near as described in the reviews, in my opinion.
Review Source:We decided to give it a try based on the recommendations of several locals.  Based on recommendations we tried the Anniversary Burger.  This huge half pound burger does not disappoint  and it comes with a large side of tasty fries.  There is a fair selection of  beer on tap (for $3.25 or 3.50!) also. Service was quick and attentive. We will be back!
Review Source:the pastry chef was displaying her delicious treats at the jacksonport farmers market. what caught my attention was her display of maple bacon doughnuts, which were absolutely delicious. however, the star of the show was her  cherry pie. not the prettiest pie in the case but hands down the most delicious cherry pie in door county! i admitted to having never been to this restaurant, and when i return to door county in october, will definitely be stopping in to check it out!
Review Source:My husband and I stopped here after a lively performance of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged" at Door Shakespeare. Â We were looking for a little dinner and some drinks. Â Good beer selection (local state microbreweries). Â We split buffalo wings and fried cheese curds. Â These were the best cheese curds I ever had. Â Swiss (or white cheddar) lightly fried, the cheese just pulls apart and everything melts in your mouth. Â And the buffalo wings were excellent too. Â It has a laid back vibe.
Review Source:This restauarnt was formerly Weisgerber's Cornerstone Pub; the new owners kept the Cornerstone Pub name and added Bailey's Harbor in front of it. My husband and I went there on Friday night for their fish fry and it was awesome. There's a lovely outdoor eating area with umbrella tables which is pet-friendly. Â We sat outside with a lovely view of Lake Michigan (across from the restaurant). I had the pan-fried perch special for $15.95 which was a generous serving of perch with homemade American-style potato salad (they were out of the warm German-style by 7pm) and coleslaw. My husband had the seafood platter with red buttered boiled potatoes for $18.95 which included four fried shrimp, 2 stuffed shrimp, 1 piece of Walleye, 2 pan-fried perch fillets, and 2 fried perch fillets. Add in a couple of local beers, the beautiful outdoor setting and it was a definitel 4star experience.
This restaurant is also open for breakfast and lunch; but we haven't been there yet at those times. We will definitely go back.
