We just celebrated my grandson's birthday party here and really had a great time. Â Overall I thought the staff was excellent there. Â The lady at the counter desk knew what she was doing and made everything very welcoming, even if she was busy with phones and a people in line to help with shoes and all that stuff she was very calm and organized. Â The food, I thought was great for children and adult pupu's the cheese pizza was great too.
The place is kept clean, bowling pits and restroom..all very clean. Â I can see this place expanding because it's really also a diamond in the rough, a little out-dated butgood for families. Â We got 3 lanes at $20 per hour for 3 hours and the only thing is food and drinks must be purchased there...but, I would hold a children's party there again...air conditioned and everyone who bowls gets their exercise. Â We were all very happy.
good times with family...priceless moments!!
kids loved the garlic edamame (soybeans) and bacon cheeseburger! Â
fries portion could be larger, especially when you order the "large" size...
teri-beef plate was pretty good, only thing is the mac salad could've used more mayo, was kinda dry :-(
The Barbers Point Bowling Center is a tribute to the old school days to relax and have a good time.
I hosted my child's birthday party here which was well received. The cost to reserve 3 lanes for 2 hours was only $96. They also provided me a few tables for my store bought cupcakes. Unfortunately, all food and beverages (except for cake) must be purchased from their snack bar.
As for the facility, it wasn't the state of the art but had all the necessary equipment to let the good times roll (literally!). Upon request, the staff can lift the bumpers in the gutter and there is a portable ramp for the kids to let the ball roll onto the alley.
They also have leagues which can conflict when you want to bowl so be sure to call before making the trip. Shoe rentals are $2 and games are between $3-3.50.
Located about 1.5 miles south from the H1, this place has 16 lanes to accommodate the beginners to the pros. So bowl your 300 game here!
Kids Grow Up in a Blink of an Eye!
For the past months my oldest son has caused my heart to sink several times because of the words that have been coming out of his mouth. Â I know his intention is not to cause such pain, but bring me to reality that he is not a baby anymore.
Statements such as, "I don't want to cut my hair here any more it's only for babies."
"Mom, that's a baby nick name." Â
"This place has diaper mini people all over the place."
"Please don't kiss me in front of my friends."
"Okay mom last hug, I gotta go!"
So when his birthday came around and he asked for his birthday party to be at a bowling alley I was so excited. Â We both initially wanted it at Aiea Bowl for the good eats and cosmic bowling. Â But it was going to break my bank. Â We opted for Barbers Point Bowling, which I'm so glad that we did. Â
I will admit the food is not  comparable to The Alley but everything else was great for the price.  Though there were several other parties going on the workers made sure we were well taken care of.  We rented the private room, which was such a deal.  It fits over 50 people for only $10 an hour.  It has a flat screen t.v. that the men used to watch the football game that was playing that day.  If no one rents the place before hand you can come in early to decorate the room. Â
The only thing about the room is that they also use it as a storage. Â So there were all sorts of things that you could see in plain view. Â
The Private Room

We also had a gaming system from Mobile Systems that they graciously allowed. Â The gaming system needed electrical plugs and they had an area in the back that had ample room for it. Â A link to my review about this cool contraction: Â

Food: Â
You have to cater with the Prop Stop Snack Bar if you plan to have a party at this bowling alley. Â The only thing that your allowed to bring from outside is cake and ice cream. Â They offer to hold your ice cream and cake before hand. Â You have to order a week in advance before your party. Â Which I highly suggest doing because of the other parties and if you want your food at a certain time. Â You can tack on more food to your order when your there. Â
I ordered...
Platter A $54.99 (Serves 20-25)
A 16" platter of Chicken Katsu, Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Beef and Short Ribs. Served with two bowls of Katsu Sauce.
I didn't really care for the sauce that the short ribs were marinated in. Â But everything else that was offered on platter a was good. Â I only purchased one for the party and the guest didn't finish it. Â

Platter B $34.99 (Serves 20-25)
Choice of Four of the following items:
Fries, Onion Rings, Cheese Sticks, Calamari Rings, Zing Dings, Popcorn Chicken, Wonton or Jalapeno Poppers.
I tried all of the choices that are offered as a choice. Â I guess eating appetizers while your bowling is the best bet. Â
The people at my party really really liked this platter that I had to order it 2 more times. Â

Pizza 16" Cheese $12.00
Just like any out of the box pizza. Â Of course the kids ate it up. Â

Drinks
Its best to order your fountain drinks by the pitcher. Â They also sell domestic beer by the pitcher and Heineken by the bottle. Â
Bowling:
You can rent a bowling lane for $16 an hour. Â You can pay for your guests shoe rental for $2.25 or you can tell the front that they will pay for the shoe rental them self. Â
Souvenir: Â
They sold a bowling pin that everyone from the party could sign for a memento for my oldest son. Â

Parking:
Tons of free parking in front of the alley.
Overall, I would suggest this place if you want to celebrate your child's birthday. Â It's a decent bowling alley. Â The staff here is very friendly, accommodating and attentive.
It's simple. Â It's fun. Â It's not overly crowded. Â It's close. Â It's bowling. Â
And the workers were real on it when we were there. Â We had a pin mishap and the ally worker noticed it almost before we did and had it fixed before you could say peep. Â In a lot of other alleys I've been to you have to chase someone down and wait for 10 minutes. Â Not here and not today. Â
I think we'll be going again and often. Â I don't know if I can catch the "duke" but maybe I can at least become a regular.
open to the PUBLIC!
this alley is a little gem..... slightly out-dated scoring terminals, bowling shoes from the 1950's, and not crowded at all.... that is how i like my bowling!
for real - this place is great. Â the concession lady was so nice, and working by herself - so quick. Â and they serve breakfast all day!!
the lady at the alley counter was not as nice, but helpful.
and this place is not crowded at all, so if you're in kapolei, and can't think of anything to do.... go bowling here!
p.s. - get the popcorn chicken - its GOOOOOD
