Oh, man. The food here was amazing! I had a green chili burger with a slice of avocado and vegetable soup, instead of fries. The vegetable soup was WONDERFUL! As was the burger. She also had a few desserts, that I regret I didn't try. Because I'm sure they would've been just as amazing. I had a banana muffin, though and that was good.

The couple who run this place also run a motel, which is attached. We stayed there for the night the rooms were great. Decorated with an old country sort of way (but what do I know about decorating?). There was no desk, but that was ok.

If you're passing through, Hillsboro is a neat little town and I'd highly recommend, if not staying at the motel, at least stopping here for lunch!

The only downside is this place keeps weird hours.  11am-3pm, Thursday-Sunday. Though everything in Hillsboro closes at 3 most nights. The General Store Cafe is open until 6:30p on Saturday.
