This sits in the old downtown district in Bastrop and is right on the river. They have a nice open area where you can kind of wander around with a beer and a Bourbon Bar on the way to brewpub. The Bourbon Bar is cozy to say the least with I think about 6 very close bar stools and a small back room. Despite its size the selection was extensive. Shots ranged from $10 for Jack Daniel's single barrel to $55 for a shot of the 18 year old Jameson and up. It has a very rustic feel but in a nice way (I have seen rustic done wrong and this was rustic done right). Behind the brewpub is a large patio area with a modest stage for a band (this is the part that overlooks the river). Ambiance was 5/5.

The brewpub has 4 house beers, I got the honey brown which was excellent. My wife got the IPA. I was pleasantly surprised by the IPA (IPAs are not my favorite style of beer), very approachable and drinkable.  I have had over 30 IPAs and I would rank this as either 2nd or tied for 1st. I seem to recall they had about 15 beers on tap (they are on taplister, I am just to lazy check) and around 6 more in bottles (including a cider). I would have preferred to seem more Texas beers on tap especially local, but that is a preference and not a fault. Brewery 5/5

The food. I had the green chili mac-n-cheese with grilled chicken. It came out less than hot (no one would confuse it as cold, but it should have been warmer). My first impression was it really needs more cheese. I kinda felt like was eating the "store brand mac-n-cheese." That being said the green chili flavor sets in slightly after the initial bite. The green chili flavor was perfect, spicy and flavorful but not hot. Likewise the blacked chicken was perfectly seasoned but a little sparse. My wife got the fish and chips. It was a very generous portion of fish with french fries. I sampled her fish and we both agreed that it was really good (both the batter and the fish). My wife felt it was over battered (there was a lot) but there was also a lot of fish underneath. She ended up pulling off a significant amount of batter and just eating the fish. My food was a 3/5 and with some minor tune ups could easily be a lot better. I thought the fish and chips was a 4/5.

I will definitely be back although I don't know when. They had a freshwater trout (not fried) that is calling my name.

Wonderful ambiance with a great multi-tiered patio overlooking the Colorado.  There's a playground if you want to bring the kids, the patio is dog-friendly, the staff is nice, the food is good and the beer is all from Texas.  It's hard to argue with a place that tries this hard to do it right.

Their in-house brews are consistent, but not genius.  I do think it's important to support the local talent, though.  My only real complaint is that the food, while quite good, is a bit on the spendy side (salad, two sandwiches, and a couple of beers at about $50 after tip) but it's such a nice business that that has not stopped me from going regularly.  It's not for the obnoxious & yelling PBR crowd, and I think that's worth a bit of a premium.

This place gets five stars for so many reasons.  The first is not a single crap beer on the menu!  Okay, sure they have Lone Star BUT there is no Bud, Coors nor Miller!  You Go and thank you for that.  They have a small selection of tap beers but it's LOCAL people.  Get on with your sorry selfs and realize this is good.  Expand your horizons and embrace the local beers.  I mean come on, for once in your life you might actually taste beer and not water in a can!

The location is amazing - right on the Colorado river in this little area of old cabins or houses that have been reinvented into a quint little mecca of amazing.  Restored, renewed, reused.  What's old is new again and for good reason.

The Brewhouse is huge with an amazing outdoor area.  They have live local music on Friday and Saturday night and a small but excellent menu of food that is all local.  I love it ----- support the local economy, support the state and do what's right for the planet all in one place.  Did I mention the food was also fabulous?  Waitstaff were educated and friendly, service was spot on and  the prices were good.

And in case no one was paying attention, THIS PLACE HAS TOLD THE CRAP BEERS OF Coorbudmiller --- NO THANK YOU!  Now make the drive, visit an awesome location, eat some great food and finally taste a real beer!  It's a good thing.
