So I was stranded in Oakdale when my car broke down. Â I was stuck there for 4 days, but it gave me solace that the bartender at Battered Beaver kept my spirits up. Â Kacey was just too great. Â The regulars there are also great people to interact with. Â I never imagined this half Japanese guy to get along with such a cowboy town. Â I have to say, everyone here is awesome.
Review Source:My cousin and I planned on coming here because we wanted a dive bar and the name was perfect... We were underwhelmed when we actually arrived.. It wasn't really a dive bar. Â It was a bar, with many an odd guy. Â The DJ had his mic up so loud my eardrums felt like they were going to burst when he was talking. Â The "dance floor" was a 4x4 foot area next to a pool table.. It just, wasn't good.
Review Source:Idk what's with name. Â I've never seen one battered beaver in here. Â They have a lot of cool bands here. Fridays you can experience what happens when rap music gets introduced to the cowboy capital
Its pretty wild. They have a random stripper pole there that this one girl just had to stay on all night. Oh an if the bathrooms are busy. Â There's a great place to pee out back.
"The Beav" has kick ass bartenders and booty shakin music! The security has got it down so the knuckleheads don't get out of control. The drinks are cheap and most of the people are really laid back and there to have a good time. (Every bar has an idiot or 2 come through every once in a while)
On that note, I recommend this spot to anyone willing to have a good time with some good peeps! (for a great price...times are tuff people)lol Also if your a smoker like me they have a huge smoking patio out back which is a huge +
Battered Beaver........ Now say it four times fast! Regardless of you're past experiences or expectations at the bar; tell me that doesn't bring a smile to your face.
Centrally located for those in transit from the Bay Area to Yosemite or Dodge Ridge, and a great destination for a quick mid evening drink this past Friday. Exterior has seen better days; I would go so far to say it has been properly battered. Interior was surprisingly not as much of a dive as expected; I could see the floor and the bar wasn't covered in a mysterious film.
Definitely a place where the good ol boys come to hang out, but all were friendly and drinks were cheap during my visit.
I like this place. Yes, the name is odd. Some may even read between the lines and call it borderline offensive but, I'm not one of them.
My friend knows the owner and has taken us there a couple of times. He's really friendly, and looks like a bouncer, rather than a bartender.
It can get a bit crowded in there, but what bar doesn't get a little crowded when the drinking crowd rolls in?
I ended up getting talked into going to see a band at this place not too long ago. The band was great, the drinks were good, and I love the atmosphere... but I could have done without the bartender with attitude from hell.
This is a no nonsense bar filled with a mixture of different people. Young, old, pretentious, and the all important "Who gives a shit" people. I found the mix to be comforting. The bathroom arrangements are kind of weird. You actually have to pass through the band and wait in line for the restroom. Kinda felt like you were in "I gotta pee" spotlight. The women take dreadfully long to urinate so I opted for the mens rooms.. and to my dismay.. NO MIRROR! The horror! But I made due. Also, back smoking patio for my smoker friends.
If are lucky enough you can watch a couple trashed girls get down with the ranchers..sloppily spilling their drinks on the "dance floor" and ooo so gracefully slipping and falling on their own mess. I wasn't sure if I was more entertained by the band or the beyond wasted bimbos who were clearly over served. (I heart people watching!)
Even though I got a little hammered.. watched some girl try to work herself on my man and the bartenders attitude.. it was a good night!
I have only been to this place once a few months ago...I went with an Old friend of mine Lisa and our frined Amy. Â Sunday afternoon with a few friends...great place to watch football...and have a few beers.
From what I understand the owenrs are great and this is a great place to hang out!
