This adorable little place is one of the last stops for food on the way to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Park. The staff is super friendly, the food comes out quickly, and the smallest pizza is definitely enough to fill you up. There are some pretty great lunch deals that come with a salad and soda.

You get to pick two toppings as part of the meal deal, so I picked onions and linguisa, which I was pleasantly pleased to see on the menu, because it's one of my favorites, and it's rarely on menus.

The crust was pretty good, the cheese plentiful, and the toppings were delicious. My friend and I left very full and very happy about our meal!

Pizza was okay.. But had to wait 45 min to get it.  Place wasn't busy either so I'm not too sure why it took so long. Prob wont come back or recommend this place to friends.

My family went up to Sequoia/Kings Canyon for a day hike in the snow.  The restaurant was closed up at Grant grove so we headed back to Fresno.  We found Bear Mountain pizza on the way home.  They had a huge sign advertising a 9.95 large pizza.  We told the lady taking our order that we don't eat meat and could we change to olives and/or green onions.  The young man beside her said no.  I pointed out that those two choices were cheaper than pepperoni from a business perspective, but he didn't see it that way I guess.  We sat and ordered the small "cub" pizzas.  While we waited for our pizzas, my lady friend went up to order some garlic bread.  After we ate our pizzas we noticed that our garlic bread had not arrived.  I went up to the front to get it and they said they did not have our order for it.  The same young man came to our table with our original order and showed up that we didn't order the bread.  My lady friend had to reach into her purse for the atm slip proving we paid.  We were treated like crooks trying to get a free meal.  I'd rather starve than go back there.

This is the type of restaurant that my wife and I visit when we are in the mood for great food and a scenic drive.  The pizza crust is thick and crispy, but not pan style.  If you are a fan of Me & Eds pizza, you'll definitely feel right at home at Bear Mountain.  They have several beers on tap.  They have an ice cream counter (think Thrifty's/Rite-Aid) with a lot of different choices which is a perfect way to round out your meal.  There's a little old-school arcade in the restaurant, some tvs and lots of teddy bears (it's kind of a theme there).  The service is friendly and attentive.  Dining at Bear Mountain pizza is about more than just (awesome) pizza-- it's an experience.

How can I describe Bear Mountain Pizza?  Imagine if your car broke down in the desert and you started walking, you lose your way and there is nothing anywhere in sight.  The sun is getting to you and all of a sudden you come accross a beer keg, nice and cold with freezer of frosted mugs.   That is Bear Mountain Pizza.   I can only imagine how many times it has saved a hungry traveler who has spent a little bit too much time hiking in the Sequoias and is on their way back down the mountain.

We were visiting our son who works at one of the camps up the mountain.   He wanted to show us this place.  It is where he goes when he wants to get away from camp food, when he wants to get reception on his AT&T phone.

We had lunch, a salad and a pizza as well as a  cold beer and some soft drinks.   The place was busy for 2pm, full of travelers as well as locals.    There were nine firemen so you know it has to be good!   Honestly the salad was OK, fresh and crisp but nothing too special.  The Pizza was better.    It was big and filled us up.

Being that we were camping that night and didn't have much in the way of food with us it kind of saved our bacon too.   Gave us some wonderful leftovers that sure hit the spot!

I would note that the girl who took our order was over the top helpful and enthusiastic!    She checked in on us several times to make sure that everything was to out liking!

Wow, I would give it five stars but that would take better aesthetics and placement, like closer to my house, which I know is not possible.  I loved this pizza!! I didn't know it was going to be a deep dish or say thick crust pizza but after waiting a good 20 minutes I realized it was worth the wait. For $5.99 you get a personal 8" pizza with 2 toppings and a 16oz. soda, what a deal. Soft crust, crispy on the bottom, good ratio of toppings. The dough had a slight yeasty flavor, just enough to make you say mmmmmm! I won't be back to the Sequoias soon but next time I am I will definitely be making this one of my stops for sure.

To start off my rating was for both the food and the treatment we got, so that being said....I have to admit that the pizza was delicious but the hospitality was awful and upsetting. I have not felt any type of racism in a very very long time.
When we got there it was a full house n as soon as they saw us (a Mexican family) walk in everyone basically left. I will never go back to that place so that my kids don't have to be exposed to that again. I mean the ppl seemed very rude n we could tell the difference in the way they treated us n the other customer. They basically told us to leave with out saying it. I had heard this place was a good hang out n a place where u could feel @ home but I guess u have to b white for that. It's so sad that we r still faced with these type of  situations still, being in 2012... I have raised my kids to be polite and friendly so that they do not make ppl feel unwanted and or degraded so its upsetting when others encourage it.

I think more than anything, it's the atmosphere I love about this place. Yes, the pizza is delicious here but the drive through those rolling hills is half the treat. It's nice to get away from the business of town and sink into a place where people take the time to get to know you. (I kind of feel like I'm going to burst out singing the theme song from Cheers! Haha) The staff are all down to earth and so kind. The pizza is great and absolutely worth the wait!

Every time I visit my parents out in Squaw Valley, this is our GO-TO spot!

Customer Service: Super Friendly and always takes care of everyone

Food:  Delicious!  We always get the Papa Bear.  They load on the toppings andI love how the crust has that thick crunchiness on the edges

A pizza joint way out in the middle of nowhere up in the east  foothills in Fresno Co. near Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park.

The pizza is not bad at all. Chicken with the white garlic sauce is my favorite item here. Brew on tap. Pretty much the only game in town in this back water village way up in the sticks.

Whenever I visit my parents in Squaw Valley, I always make it a point to suggest we get pizza and beer at  Bear Mountain Pizza.  The pizza is so good.... I live five hours away but sometimes the home town feeling calls me...

I have driven past this place for years, YEARS! It was always a little joke with my Dad everytime we drove past on our way to or from Kings Canyon, I would ask to stop and he would say no. I was born in California but since we don't make it out there much since moving away, meals are reserved for those special restaurants we don't have elsewhere (In 'n' Out, Tommy's, Round Table Pizza...). So we never stopped.

Last week I was in Kings Canyon with my family and girlfriend, and when she and I left I was determined to stop at Bear Mountain Pizza, after years of driving past it and wondering, the mystery would be solved and the pilgrimage would be completed.

    We were quite pleased.

We each got a small pizza (her a 7" and me a 10") to much on during the drive back to LA. I had pepperoni, she had the Brazilian sausage (can't remember the names) and tomatoes. Both pizzas were fantastic! The guys at the counter were super-cool and friendly, too. All-in-all Bear Mountain Pizza was the experience I hoped it would be. We can't wait to check it out again when we are able to visit the incredible Sierra Nevada mountains again.

This is a tiny place out in the middle of a valley in between Fresno and Kings Canyon National Park.  It doesn't look like much from the outside, but Bear Mnt. Pizza is a really good pizza place.

They have a large variety of sizes of pizzas (by the inch) and toppings.  It's not a very expensive place either.  The pizzas are done at an average amount of time.  There's a big screen TV inside, half a dozen [working] arcade games, and there are cute stuffed bears aligned along the wall on a ledge.  The atmosphere is a respite from a long drive.

The pizza has always been good every single time I go.  What's cool is if you know you are going to be passing the area, and you know their number, you can call in and have a pizza made and time it so that you pass through around the time it's finished.  Perfect for people trying to scramble up or down the mountains who also want awesome pizza.  Moderatley priced too.

The workers are very humble and nice.  Oh and I forgot to add, they have quite a bit of icecream too!  This place is the perfect oasis for those traveling in between Kings Canyon Park and Fresno (or Clovis).

There are very few stand alone buildings in the area, so you can't miss the place.  It's on the N side of the road.  Don't be turned away!

Pros: Great flavor, moderate prices, ice cream, bar, comfortable atmosphere, waiter serveice, outdoor and indoor seating, arcade games, good for kids and large groups.

Cons:  Nothing really except no delivery (because it's in a rual location) .  Prices are moderate.
