The renovation has not been kind to this once great space. The sound here can be really poor. Â I read reviews that criticized the acoustics at Bearsville but I figured, how bad could it be in this legendary town. I figured any music hall in Woodstock would feel obligated to respect the music. I was mistaken. You don't have to be an audiophile or expert to realize that your favorite act just doesn't sound right here unless you're in the sweet spots. This is not an acoustically righteous venue. You might want to pass and see your show at another place on the circuit. Most acts will make several stops around NY and not too far away.
However, it is Woodstock and that is no small thing. You could opt for the scene and the cache. If you do that then try to be careful about your tickets and realize the golden circle seats can't be trusted to be acoustically golden.
