Passed by many times but yesterday decided to stop. Â Glad we did. Â I was assuming it was only counter service but it's a full service restaurant. Â Started with a batch of lemon pepper wings. Â Very tasty and good size. Â Came with celery AND carrots( why most places dropped carrots I don't know). We both ordered a 10 oz double burger. Â Their choices of toppings are huge. Â In addition to the norm I added relish, sweet and dill pickles, slaw and mushrooms. Â The burger was huge and delicious. Â Seemed to be hand made too. Â Shared a large fry but it could have been shared by 4. Â One thing that was disappointing was the hot dog was crossed off the menu. Â When I heard another table ordering a dog I wished I would have asked, just so I could try it. Â They also serve draft and bottled beer as well as pizza. Â We'll try again and surf the menu.
Review Source:It's easy to be skeptical of an unknown restaurant in a small town strip mall. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Big John's Dawg House. My experience has only involved takeout, so I can't attest to the service (although the girl at the counter has always been quite friendly). But I can speak to the quality of the food.
I had a Philly cheesesteak, which was delicious. Nice sandwich that a lot of restaurants can't quite pull off. I've also had their pizza, which was surprisingly good. It's hardly high quality, but it's tastier than the offerings at the big chains. Everyone else in my party was more than satisfied with their meals.
Best of all had to be the price. For a total of a burger, a sandwich, two small pizzas, and fries all around, it ran us less than $20. It's a great tasting, cheap restaurant that has always left me looking forward to my next trip.
